Hawt, Sizzlin'. Too accurate for me, it's second/third day of unbearable heat.
Just had a lot of fun with Final Crisis, now time to pass out with some good podcasting.

GOod on ya, Wood, for trying the Deathnote. I enjoyed it, I didn't love it. I actually hated it at first. I read volume one and a couple chapters in volume 2 and stopped for a while. I hated Light so much that I couldn't read any more. It was the state of mind I was in too. Not the right time to read that book. But I picked it back up (from the library, so I didn't have to pay) and I enjoyed it. If you think it read too quickly, later volumes won't have that problem. There is a ton of dialogue later on. If it wasn't such a short series (as far as manga goes), I wouldn't have finished it.

It's definitely not the Watchmen of manga. The best manga that I've read is the works of Osamu Tezuka: Black Jack, Buddha, etc.)

Partially through the episode and wanted to chime in quickly.  Smiley

1) I think I'm leaning towards Vince's thoughts (on FI #7) of the Obama influence with the 1st black Superman we see -- you did noticed what his job was, right?

2) I'd concur that AKIRA (specifically in the US) is probably manga's WATCHMEN (if the we absolutely have to make the comparison), and to extend this thought process out, then LONE WOLF AND CUB is manga's DARK KNIGHT RETURNS (though according to Miller, it's probably flip-flopped).

Only in Japan could a ~2400 page series be considered short.  Roll On Floor Laughing

I have perspective. I read the entire DragonBall/DragonBall Z series-all 42 volumes.

And if Wood is going to give Chris a mixtape, the only apprpriate delivery method is to drop it into his locker.
