Nexus talk. What a thing of beauty. I knew you'd get a kick out of that. Phil Collins versus Peter Gabriel???? Wow, Wood just lost any music credibility that he had. That's what I was saying! I like me some Phil, but better than Peter Gabriel?

Hawt, Sizzlin'. Too accurate for me, it's second/third day of unbearable heat. Just had a lot of fun with Final Crisis, now time to pass out with some good podcasting.
Are you out in Oz or NZ? I heard in some places out there the summer is 110 degrees?

The Nicieza Thunderbolts was old school Marvel that I really miss. Guardians of the Galaxy has filled that slot but I still miss the Busiek/Nicieza days of Thunderbolts.

110? Pshaw. We can get up to 115-120 here in AZ. Usually the high doesn't go below 100 between May and September or October.

For the love of all that's unholy...I don't think Phil Collins is better than Peter Gabriel. My exclamation of "C'mon..SU SU SUDIO!" was totally lost thanks to the wonders of Skype last night. Truth be told, I effing LOVED Genesis in all its forms as a kid, and have seen Collins [in his No Jacket Required days] and Gabriel [in his In Your Eyes solo days] in concert. My music tastes are eclectic as all get out, before I went to downloading off iTunes, I owned close to 4,000 CDs. About the only stuff I don't have much of a taste for is country, and not because I dislike it particularly but because I never was really exposed to it.

Re: The first 26 mins of this ep, and FC #7;
But honestly? When you didn't hate it, or love it, what else is the feeling? I enjoy the telling of all these deeper levels, but I didn't get the direct zotz from them, and am not likely to because I'm not going to go back and re-read them. Limited energy and all that. But I also have absolutely zero of the need to convince people that Morrison cannot write or that the storytelling was poor, and I only jest about the idea of him being on drugs.
I think, so far, your coverage of FC #7 has been the most honest and fair that I've heard so far. There may be follow-ups that resemble yours, but from Chris admitting not understanding it, to Vince actually illustrating WHY this stuff is "good," to Wood acknowledging and giving credit to those who hate it but stating his objections to the pro-bash sentiments, to David A Price being pretty--it's just all love right now for me. Party on you Garths and Waynes of our world!

Do I really have to read the Batman issues to get the "full" FC experience? Those are about the only books I hadn't been picking up over the last few months.

Please don't hate on David--well, what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't really start to well let me put it this way if you are going to harsh on someone who at any rate the best way I can describe it is...

The Batman issues show what he was going through while plugged into Darkseid's machine but I don't think those two issues are essential to the whole story. They're not the required reading that Superman Beyond is.

I have to agree with Vince on one thing: Steve Rude absolutely stands up to Wally Wood. He surpasses him in my opinion.

Vince & David, please Nexify Mr. Wooooode.
And then Nexify the world.
xoxo

PS: Don't forget the awesome efforts of Ken Steacy on the Space Ghost one-shot from Comico.
PPS: Dark Horse had launched Nexus as a series of trades, before trades became the viable format of today. It died on the vine. If they were to reissue those today for $12–$17 per trade, it would be great.
PPPS: Don't forget that Paul Smith—hot off his X-Men run— was the Dude's regular fill-in artist for a couple of years there.
PPPPS: My love of the EC guys is pretty well-known, and I gots to agree with Vince that Rude is on par with Woody. Bear in mind that Wally frequently employed a number of assistants while the Dude has been pretty autonomous.
