Things I hated in games I liked…god, there have been so many throughout the years...one that comes to mind though were those elevator rides in Mass Effect.  Five minutes to get down stairs?  Give me a break…the elevator music didn't help either.  But five minutes to get down stairs and then five minutes to fly in your spaceship across the galaxy just didn't add up.

I understand load times…but man, that shit was like cabin fever.

Loved the game though.   Thumbs Up

Hated in games I liked: I know it's an easy answer, but it's honest. Fuck the Library in Halo.

Okay…I got it now, Final Fantasy 2 and farming for pink tails, and grinding away to get items such as the zeus gauntlet and the glass helm…not to mention trying to get the imp, bomb, and mage call spells.

Probably one of the most labor intensive efforts I ever put into a video game, and the game gave no quarter, it really didn't, it just beat you down, over, and over, and over again.

It was a ruthless experience and filled me with all kinds of hate.

In my top ten games of all time though.   Thumbs Up

i'm playing the battlefield 3 single player campaign and i'm pleasantly surprised. my expectations were low going in, so i'm happy its actually better than i expected. i'm still playing so for all i know it takes a nose dive at the end. for now , though, i'm happy.

that said, i think MW3 is the better solo game. BF3 simply doesn't have the slam bang, wide screen action set pieces of MW. also, MW3 runs smoother and has the better graphics (overall). even after DL'ing the 3D add-on pack for my 360, BF3 still suffers from stuttering frame rate. enough to be noticeable and annoying.

story-wise its pretty decent. i loved the jet portion, and not so much the tank level. i do not enjoy the quick time sequences.

I feel like there's something wrong with me, that The Library never bothered me.  Part of it might be that I played through the game, for the first time, entirely in coop with my bff.  So, rather than bogging down in it being tedious, we were B.S.'ing the whole time & didn't notice.

I'm now gonna come clean with a hate/love.  I think it has more to do with where I am in life and what kind of time I have for gaming, but I really hate transversal in Skyrim.  I love doing little story bits and light quests, but stuff I really have to devote myself to and  perhaps lose a shit-ton of time on (if I'm not on the ball, saving) has made me dread playing that game.

Not being able to jump in Guild Wars comes to mind - as does everything about SWtOR that is not bounty hunter. But if we wanna' get old school the last fight with Bloody Malth in the original Ninja Gaiden. You had to use a jump slash attack to kill him and hope you dealt enough damage to land kill before you fell through the floor and into two levels ago to replay the journey back. I nearly beat my head into my desk 'till my brains leaked out my ears the first time that happened.

Mass Effect 3 demo impressions.  LET'S GET ON IT!

For myself, I'm old and fell asleep while the demo was downloading.  But, as Mr. Seger teaches, "We got tonite, baby". Rock Horns

I have been playing the same game for like 6 months and having a blast with it that games is Dark Souls. This game is atmospheric difficult and blood pounding like nearly no other video games I have ever played and it has a combat system that is player skill oriented and free of quick time events and other cinematic tricks that other action/rpg games have fallen into.

I got this like a month prior to getting Skyrim and that game wore out its Welcome but this game continually draws me back in to die die die die and occasionally succeed.

I've been playing Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer and getting my ass kicked. I seriously don't know how I could be worse at the game. I would say on team death match I average about 4 kills a round. Everyone else is between 10-25.  No

It is fun though. I think I just need to spend more time playing it. I'm also not as familiar with the maps as most others are.

Any of you other guys playing MW3 online?

I'm still playing CoD Black Ops on the Wii (yes, the Wii!) almost every night in an attempt to max out everything on the highest prestige level. My son moved on to the XBox 360 some time ago, so I get the Wii all to myself. Who needs those HD graphics when you can play on a standard def TV? Just like old times... Smiley

I'm still super hooked on MW3. As I have started to memorize the maps and figure out what I'm doing the whole experience has of course become a lot more pleasant.

I think the whole "Elite Premium" thing they are doing is kind of crazy though. You have 59$ to get Elite Premium for a year and this unlocks the DLC as it comes available. So there is new DLC that includes a couple multi-player maps but you can't download it unless you pay the $59.  No

I know that DLC will eventually become available for free uses at cost but this whole concept seems greedy. We already pay out the ass for the console, game, and x-box live, now we need to pay $59 for the DLC?  No

Played a few rounds of the multiplayer horde mode of the Mass Effect 3 demo.  Like a much more challenging version of Gears of War, with insanely better rewards/upgrade path.  Definitely give it a try & don't get frustrated when you get blown off the map early.  Worth putting time in. Yes

So now that I'm a Skyrim addict, it has me wondering if my resolute "today's games are not for me, they're too complicated" stance needs re-thinking. If I'm 100% comfortable with the way Skyrim plays, including the combat, are there other games -- different settings/genres are fine -- that are worth checking out?

Check out some videos for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.  As big a fan of Skyrim as you are, I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy the hell out of this one too.
