That's the main thing holding me back. I have no desire to spend however many hours driving a dune buggy around empty landscapes or scanning planets for minerals.
Just the thought of doing that again will give me nightmares. Thankfully there was no minigame that was as irritating as safe cracking, planet scanning, or buggy riding in ME3. Sure, you scanned planets, but it wasn't that bad. Not awesome, but I was just happy it was relatively easy to do.

As someone who played (and loved) the hell out of ME2, for some reason, I just don't have the burning desire to jump into ME3.... Though I did download the iOS datapad app - which is sweeeeeet. Maybe I'll just wait for the inevitable GOTY edition and just think about finishing the other Holiday '11 games that I've been neglecting.

Hadn't heard. Is it just Angry Birds IN SPACE? Or is the play dynamic any different?

I would think the gameplay would be at least a bit different considering, you know, no gravity.

I figure as much. But after multiple updates and 3 more versions of the game that are essentially the same thing. I wouldn't doubt them just dropping star fields in the background and reselling it. Of course it's not Zynga we are talking about here, so I should give Rovio some credit.

It's a true sequel in that they expand on what works and add a number of new elements, like new abilities and a variety of gravitational gameplay mechanics that really does freshen up the experience. And the HD version is retna display compatible.
Well worth a dollar, even if they're dipping into in app purchases more.

There is gravity. Sometimes. Yeah, yeah. But no air. Do the birds wear little space suits?

just put angry birds space on my iPhone, the addition of different gravitational pulls is an interesting game mechanic. It is admittedly fun to see those damn pigs freeze to death in the vacuum of space too

I really wonder how they are going to change the gameplay, since up to this point it has relied so heavily on the verticality of the locations as part of the mission design/structure. Will be interesting for sure. Also, Hunters 2 released for iOS yesterday, if you like turn based squad strategy games, it is a must.

I haven't played any of the games yet, but from that screen shot it looks like there is some verticality possibilities within the towns. And then I heard there is going to be a lot of use of tall trees.

I finally picked up LA Noir because the Complete Edition was $20 at Target yesterday. I'm definitely digging it so far.

Angry Birds Space is pretty great. I just didn't like that after the first two 'zones' (60 challenges) you had to pay $0.99 for the third zone.
That being said, is anyone else playing hero academy? You can challenge me, username: erikh42.

some interesting ACIII articles over at kotaku. 50 Things About Assassin’s Creed III That You Should Knowhttp://kotaku.com/5896386/50-things-about-assassins-creed-iii-that-you-should-know?...
The game's main section, featuring Connor, takes place from around 1753-1783. "You are not winning the Revolution," creative director Alex Hutchinson says. "The Revolution is in the game's background." Some of the game's themes: liberty or death, power and slavery, control vs. freedom. Its player fantasies: be a nation's pioneer, help found a country, inspire the world to fight for freedom.
...
The game's major cities are New York and Boston. "They are going to be big, big playable environments," Hutchinson said. The cities won't resemble modern New York and Boston, save for a landmark here or there. "Unlike European cities, which are sort of made of stone and have stuck it out over time, America has a habit of burning everything down and rebuilding it. Even though it's familiar, it's not."
...
The "big new setting" for AC III is the frontier, a region that is 1 1/2 times the size of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood's massive and geographically diverse Rome. Some 30% of the game's missions will occur there as will a great deal of player-driven exploration. Missions may involve the Battles of Lexington and Concord and George Washington's camp at Valley Forge. Players will find animals and outposts on the frontier. If Connor is just a face in the crowd in the game's cities, out in the frontier, he'll be a man against nature in the wilderness.
...
The Two Best Things I’ve Been Told About Assassin’s Creed IIIhttp://kotaku.com/5897460/the-two-best-things-ive-been-told-about-assassins-creed-iii...
"The rule is no identical loops," Hutchinson said about the new game.
Great news, right? Or do do you need me to explain that?
Fair enough!
Throughout the presentation of this new AC, Hutchinson and producer Francois Pelland talked about the fatigue series players may feel when they see the same animations or do the same things. There have been four core Assassin's Creed games in nearly as many years and they know people itch for a change.
...
I asked Hutchinson and Pelland where AC III will stand in the spectrum of AC games. Were we moving toward action-movie material like Revelations again?
"We're much more ACII than the games that followed," Hutchinson said. "We don't like things that are historically inaccurate. We don't like things that are too fantasy. We don't like things that are too over the top. I feel like one of the driving forces in AC is this earnestness and this rich history behind it. Every time you go closer to other games, you lose some magic. So, for sure we're not going there." -mike
