I'm on another old timey game kick, as often happens, and I'm playing the Thief series for the first time.

I love that series. In fact one night I had to stop playing because it was freaking me out. It's all "Demonic" near the end, it's a good story line but freaky.

Lately...

On the DS:
Having played a ton of PEGGLE DS last month, I switched gears to GTA: CHINATOWN WARS and got about 30 min in before getting swept up in PICROSS again. I reset the entire game and started from the beginning and still say this is one of the best games ever released on the DS.

On the PC:
Spent about 60 min trying out FREE REALMS last night. As someone who's never played an MMO (out of fear of becoming addicted and shelling out $15 a month to feed the habit) so far it's exactly what I expected and an overall decent experience for a "freemium MMO-Lite."

On the Wii:
Hmmm...that's right, I do own a Wii...  Thinking

Whistle

On the Xbox 360:
A ton of stuff. Played through WWE: LEGENDS OF WRESTLEMANIA and had a blast. Lots of memories of '80s and '90s wrestling story-lines that I haven't thought of in years.

Working my way through X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE and I'm surprised by how much fun the combat is...visceral in every sense of the word. I could do without the spacial/environmental puzzles, but the fighting is enough to make the game an awesome rental.

Before that, it was a hodge-podge of various guitar-based games and LEGO STAR WARS II with my son. Overall, the 360 still delivers!

Spent most of the day yesterday playing NES. SO many great games for that system. I'm kind of feeling like I should go play more Jackal right now...yes. Yes, I will go play Jackal right now.

What is Jackal ? Thinking

I still play Earthbound and occasionally some Geometry Wars (which is surprisingly addicting).

Think of a COMMANDO (NES) / ASSAULT HEROES (XBLA) mash-up.

Last week I grinded out the last few achievements in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE that I was willing to work towards. And what I realized during this game is that I have a very low tolerance for spacial/environmental puzzles in actions games nowadays. Sure - they stretch out a 5 hour game into an 8-9 hour game, but man, do they ever kill the momentum on the game while exponentially increasing the levels of frustration for me.

Needed a palate cleanser after XMO:W so broke out SONIC'S ULTIMATE GENESIS COLLECTION again to work through some classic 16-bit goodness. And maybe a few more *cough*achievements*cough*.  Embarrassed  Like I've said in the past, I've become a whore, but a whore for only the games I'm willing to play.  Though I will admit that I'm checking out http://www.trueachievements.com/ every once in a while.  Whistle

And now just waiting for PUNCH-OUT to hit the shelves.  Rock Horns

JACKAL is awesome! Great game and nice avatar, Pap!

Man, earthbound is really long! Did anyone on the board actually played it?

Me!  I did!  Earthbound is one of my favourite video games, ever, and when I finished it I was just giddy.  Karma for the Earthbound goodness!

I've been spoiling myself to the Gears of War series via youtube, and pondering if I should get a dreamcast system for my own curiosity.... Thinking There were some decent games despite its short game-span.
