I was actually bigger on Moore's work pre-ABC than post, and can still go back and look at stuff like Miracleman or Supreme or 1963 (which really needs to be finished and collected or at the very least collected, though it's doubtful that will ever happen) in addition to the obvious stuff and just really still appreciate it, but now his work runs pretty cold for me... Morrison on the the other hand not only still enjoys the playground he's in, he manages to twist it around and do all sorts of cool stuff that th other kids never manage to think of and it just grabs me more and more all the time...
And just finished the episode a little while ago, great job as always boys, now if you could all get some microphone quacking action going on... it could be even more entertaining...

glad to see you guys giving TMNT it's much deserved props.
Vince mentioned the new TMNT (Vol. 4) series and that there hasn't been a new issue in a few years. Actually Laird just put out issue #29 back in April but he is only selling them directly from the Mirage site for $10 a pop (with a sketch in the back) as opposed to soliciting through Diamond. They will still be putting the issues up for free to read on Wowio though. I was happy to hear you mention that you are digging the current volume though because it's hasn't been going over well with much of the fanbase (especially Jim Lawson's current art style). Me personally, I have really been digging it, and have liked how Laird has injected some Morrison-esque themes of characters and their relationships to their creators, etc.

blog / facebook / twitter / last.fmListen to the 'THE CHEMICAL BOX' podcastsComics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

Best show yet, guys. Chris, don't you find it odd that the quacking almost always comes from your mike? Have you tried a different mike? Re: Editorial superstardom, props to Wood for his line about the Kentucky Derby. You actually had me disagreeing with Vince, which is something I rarely find myself doing. And anyways, isn't hyping the editor kind of like hyping the producers of a movie on it trailer? From the producers of Independence Day? Holy shit, I gotta see that!

Morrisson vs Moore? I aint bitin' that hook.
The editor thing. Jeez, ya GOTTA have editors, nobody would ever FINISH anything! I look at it like this, when true art and commerce collide there's a big bang. It's a very American thing. Editors doing their thing and creators stretching out beyond their stated position.
I really think that it's this ongoing push and pull that has made American pop culture so vibrant over the years. One doesn't see this kind of FRANTIC energy anywhere else in the world. Fantastic, creative and beautiful, yes. The great Masters and the origin of all music, yes. But the mad dash for the cash in a flash is what has CREATED the bad, bold and beautiful world of American pop culture. Movies, TV, Comics and Rock and Roll all were forged in battle between the money and the art. With many unique results. Keep fighting, lads! How the hell did I go off on THAT rant?

Forgot to include by listener interactive drink call! Was sippin' on some Lost Abbey's Angel Share - which has become of my favorite beers in the world. It's aged in a bourbon barrel and is one of those great aromic beers with crazy flavors that are actually different from the former. I was actually only able to grab two bottles for my guy at the port here (don't ever let anyone tell you Napoli isn't shady as fuck - it's the shadiest) and it's awesome! The only was I was able to convince myself to stop drinking so much a few years ago is to be a beer snob I love traveling and collecting drink where I go (particularly ports). It's one of those products that is found everywhere but so different everywhere you do

OK, I just read Secret Invasion and all I have to say is Chris = JADED. That was a damn fine issue; and I can't believe it was enough that he would be DONE with events. I thought it was entertaining from start to finish.

You motherf@ckers! Your show is now becoming a "top of the must listen" podcast pile for me! My problem is I start to listen to the episode when I leave the house for work and continue listening while I'm getting the restaurant set for lunch. By the time I get home, I forget all the great points I have to make about your wonderful ramblings. Keep up the good work gents! the Tiki

The return of drunken Chris, how I have missed him. His last episode was the final BBP, right? Can't you guys start recording an hour later, when Chris have had a few more? Then the content gold will be a sure thing, every week!
Love it!
Can't wait for episode 8.
Keep em coming guys...
