I'm having a full blown El revival thanks to the above mentioned albums. Finally got around to the last megamixtape. Fucking amazing, How To Serve Man is a brilliant track.

Russ, I liked you before. Now, I'm starting to love ya. Good selection. Do yourself a favor and check out Buck Owens. The Bakersfield sound is a bit more poloshed and honkey tonk, but themman was a master. Lots of good stuff out there. Bean

They've played at my Watering Hole a few times. From my barstool I liked what I heard, but not enough to go pay the cover and see the real deal. But that's just me being lazy. EDIT I was thinking of Japanther.

These guys seem to meet the middle point that is my favorite and TimH's favorite bands. They seem to be the real deal and I can't wait to see if Tim digs on the too. Bean

Baroness - Live at Roadburn
Nice choice. In a kind of similar vein, if only because I'm sure they've played Roadburn as well, I'm listening to High on Fire: Surrounded By Thieves. In honor of learning Mr. Pike has checked into rehab and no more tours this year Oh well, at least it's for booze and not for the leaf, which is his primary inspiration I'm sure.
