Actually i was right the first time. Leon Payne is OG. Though he may never have recorded it, it is still his. All others are covers. Eddie Noack's being the most famous. Then i believe would be Beasts of Bourbon after. And that means yes, it is the Eddie version on 7" im looking for!

Nope. It's a different song. The Leon Payne one is considered his "serial killer" song.

It's not out yet, but I'm really excited for this doc.  It's right in my wheelhouse with tons of bands from my region.  My favorite quote from the trailer, "There is something unique about the Southern experience.  You couple that with metal it creates this sludge that's like Slayer, dipped in syrup".

I know the film has had some test screenings and festival screenings but I don't know when it will get a proper release.

His first solo album that I am listening to is fairly schizophrenic but there are few moments where all the pieces fall into place just fine, like this track. (A word of advice - the visuals are awful.)
