I don't think Leon Payne ever recorded "Psycho." As far as I know, the first recorded version of the song was by Eddie Noack in 1968
http://www.youtube.com/v/BtDLN4LoPZA&rel=1Still my all-time favorite version. Actually, you are right! That's who i meant to mention. Eddie Noack version is the OG.Actually i was right the first time. Leon Payne is OG. Though he may never have recorded it, it is still his. All others are covers. Eddie Noack's being the most famous. Then i believe would be Beasts of Bourbon after. And that means yes, it is the Eddie version on 7" im looking for!

I don't have audio on my comp at work. Is this a version of Psycho that the sonics also cover?
Nope. It's a different song. The Leon Payne one is considered his "serial killer" song.

I'll be sure to investigate as soon as I return home. Country Killer songs are one of my favorite sup genres... Probably a side effect of Murder Ballads being my introduction to Nick Cave.

http://www.youtube.com/v/3CHY0xOvPbE&rel=1It's not out yet, but I'm really excited for this doc. It's right in my wheelhouse with tons of bands from my region. My favorite quote from the trailer, "There is something unique about the Southern experience. You couple that with metal it creates this sludge that's like Slayer, dipped in syrup". I know the film has had some test screenings and festival screenings but I don't know when it will get a proper release.

Revisiting the 90s Nine Inch Nails output. Some of the tracks of the Fragile and Downward Spiral still sound ahead of their time even now.

I saw Vernon Reid at Yoshi's as part of Lifetime the Tony Williams tribute band….holy shit, the guy is so underrated (hate using that term, but it's the truth)

On the subject being underrated, I think Corey also wears that crown.
His voice is really clean, and I know that may seem like not much of a compliment…but it is…it really is. Glad to know he's a nice guy. World needs more of those. His vocal work on this song...
