I will actually pick up Booster Gold for this. I could care less about the price hike (DCBS) and will actually feel like I am getting something nifity from a single issue. I am not really a fan for single issues, but if they could actually have a monthly with a nice back up it would at least make me want to try it.

Think of it this way: it is like we will be able to cut the Blue Beetle montly but still get a regular feature of it, and we have a better exuse to read Booster Gold. (like I ever needed one).

Man, I should call in to Raging Bullets... I am becoming a total DC Yes-man lately.

But I like the Idea of any Blue Beetle feature as apposed to none. Now if they would only bring back Flash Comics with stories about all the different Flashes (Jay, Barry, Wally, Max Mercury, and even Impulse) and Flash world characters (Elongated Man, the Rogues, ect..) that would be the Shiz-Nite.

I like the idea of the return of the beatle, but I'm not sure if a back-up feature is the best way.

Hopefully it will be a full story rather than just a couple of pages.  I'd actually like to see a Red Devil - Blue Beetle team-up feature.

I dig the idea. I love having back-ups in monthly comics; I think it adds a layer to a book. The 3.99 think does ward me off because I really don't want to support that, but we really don't know what the actual page count will be. For all we know, we may be getting the 22 pages of BG + 12 of BB. You know, for something like that, I might be able to go with it.

I'll wait an see when something like this is solicited. Until then, the interest is seeded.

I'm going to give it a try. As much as I'm down on the whole $3.99 thing, this sounds like an attempt to give more for the money. And while the cynic in me has some suspicions about how long the added content will stay, I'm going to go along with it for now.

I dig it. It's tactfully done. It'll get me back on Booster Gold which I've been thinking of doing for a while and this is the perfect reason because Blue Beetle scratched a certain itch. They won't all be for me, not that interested in Teen Titans/Ravager.
End of the day if I don't enjoyed either Booster Gold or the Blur Beetle back up feature I'm sure that it'll be released in separate trades like Doctor 13 and Tales of... whatever it was.
But then it could backfire because it might raise a books sales(at least for a short while) but then they will probably drop drastically which would suck and bring more doom and gloom.

I remember when Marvel started making the jump to 3.99 for some of their books.

I remember a lot of people complaining about Marvel upping prices without adding anything to the books.

Now people are complaining that DC is upping the price and adding something.

I'm confused Bangs Head

What would you rather pay more money for: A regular page count copy of Avengers for 3.99 where the only addition is a Bad Hank Pym with wings or a copy of Booster Gold where DC tries to appease us with a back-up(without cutting the page count of the main story) featuring a character that has no luck in holding a solo series.

Even if the back up is 4 pages long I would rather pay the dollar for 4 pages extra instead of paying it because MARVEL said so... Cheesy

Some people around here have probably known this for awhile without being able to say, but Mike Norton dropped a big hint over at the CGS forum that he might be part of the creative team for one of these co-features.  Hopefully that means the Blue Beetle one.

(If only it were Ted!  But, still, I think his take on Jaime would be very cool, too).  We'll see...

Well, I've always loved having back-up features in comics, and sometimes you get stuff there that really excels (I'm thinking the classic Goodwin/Simonson Manhunter first and foremost), so I'm really pleased to see DC doing this...

In the latest Wordballoon, J.M. DeMatteis said that the new Doom Patrol/Metal Men book will feature a full, 22-page story for the DP, and then a 10-page backup for MM. 32 story pages total. I'm guessing that Booster/Beetle would be the same deal...

Given the $3.99 price tag, is that good enough? Let's discuss.

From my point of view, it's good enough for me, at least in terms of page count. Quality is to-be-determined, but I'm not turned off by the price point given the page count. I'm guessing it'll probably be 40 pages all told, once ads are factored in.

But how does everyone else feel?

Makes sense.  Quality will play a factor in something like that, but if you're getting more pages for $3.99 than other books for the same price, I know where I'd rather spend my money.

I guess DC was priming folks with Final Crisis.
