We had the same situation this weekend. My wife was taking out daughter to a dace recitle and her directions were off. Using Find My Iphone and google maps I guided her in. I felt like a proper sidekick!
I love it!! She's been calling me Alfred to her Batman.

There are so many creative types on the board, is anyone playing Drawsomething?
There's a Draw Sonething thread around here someplace. I'm on my phone, otherwise I'd dig it up for you.

so i use atomic web browser for my 1st gen ipad. i like it, but whenever i open a page with some mildly complicated ads or even embedded youtube videos, it just crashes. hell, if i access youtube thru the browser instead of the app it would sometimes crash. its frustrating as hell. i also get a lot of "cannot play such-and-such" dialogue boxes that pop up (per un-runnable ad or script or whatever. so if 7 ads don't work, i get 7 boxes saying it can't run and please press "ok".). anybody else getting this?

Hahah yup. Apple really doesn't have to be creative when it comes to new iOS versions. The new features they add usually already exist as jailbreak tweaks or non-Apple apps. Kind of an underwhelming WWDC. The major announcements I'm looking forward to weren't included: SDK for the current AppleTV device, iPhone5, Apple Television. That just means I'm more amped up for the next event.

My MacBook is from 2005/2006, so I'm due. Which means I'm not completely down on what was announced. But I am happy with the iOS 6 features.

I've been trying to find the "perfect" notepad/handwriting app. I really like Penultimate and am a fan of its new Evernote compatibility (since the latter bought the former). I purchased Notes Plus, but it seems to be better suited for later-generation iPads (as stated right in the description in the App Store). Noteshelf has been on my radar for awhile and today I pulled the trigger because it's on sale for $0.99.

I am so addicted to Seven Little Words. It's the perfect brain teaser game, because most of the results aren't complicated, but how the game is setup, you end up going through this ridiculous convoluted ideas until the uber-obvious answer smacks you in the face.
This is my maafucking JAM right now.

Well... I finally bought an iPad yesterday. Got a 64GB Wi-Fi Only model of the New iPad and Darren is a happy boy... along with the iPad, I also bought a Wacom Bamboo stylus and a cover as well and I've certainly been spending a few bucks in the App store too, first purchasing Sketchbook Pro and adding some various comics, games and entertainment apps as well. I've only fooled around in a cursory way with Sketchbook Pro, but I'm looking forward to discovering more with it... Anyway, I guess I've joined the club

Welcome, Darren!!
And Seven Little Words is fun. I go back to it from time to time.
Right now my poison - much to the chagrin of my friends waiting for me to make moves in our two-player games - is W.E.L.D.E.R.

Kingdom Rush - super addictive, very well designed, cheap Tower Defence game. Well worth a look.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just spent an hour not folding laundry.

I am practicing using it because it takes time to get used to writing on the iPad.

You guys might want to try out Wacom's Bamboo Paper- it's free and man it's just terrific. I've been using it to take handwritten notes as well as roughing out ideas for projects at work... it's just awesome.

I have it and have used it, but I find it limited. I'm not sure the pay version allows cutting and pasting, but that has become one feature of Noteshelf that I found I can't live without. That, and magnifying. Bamboo Paper does react nicely and I like the way my handwriting looks. I just need more than it offers.

Speaking of iOS games featuring Marvel heroes -- this may interest some -- $6.99 for the first chapter (The Hulk) and then free updates to add additional characters as they go. If you've played the Infinity Blade or Batman fighting games, then you know what you'll get.
