Absolutely can't wait for this one.  I wish they'd just keep churning out alternate timeline DC movies, I love it.

Beat me to it toodiesel!  Thumbs Up

I watched to finished film the other day. It's a BEAST. The animation of the Flash running in this movie is best it's ever been done. Hands down the best looking and darkest DTV we've done. Definitely NOT for kids.

I'm surprised they announced this so soon:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/superman-zack-snyder-short-new-559978

"Warner Bros. Entertainment and DC Entertainment unveiled a new 75th anniversary logo for their flagship hero, and announced that a new animated short produced by Zack Snyder, the director of Man of Steel, is in production...

Details for the short are being kept secret (maybe in a lead vault?), but insiders tell Heat Vision Snyder envisioned one continuous shot, without edits, that's an homage to the Man of Steel and his many iterations over the past 75 years: Max Fleischer's cartoons, on-screen portrayals by George Reeves and Christopher Reeve, iconic versions drawn by artists Wayne Boring, Curt Swan and Neal Adams, on up through Henry Cavill’s interpretation in Man of Steel.

Joining Snyder in the endeavor are animation veteran Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League) and Man of Steel storyboard artist Jay Oliva, as well as DC’s Geoff Johns and Mike Carlin and WB Animation’s Peter Girardi."

Fantastic news!  What a great idea.

I love the tidal wave of related media these mega-movies bring.  DC's gone all out with this:  2 new Superman books with crazy talent on them, this great news, Superman Unbound (which may have just been a coincidence), the reprint collections, the tshirts, and seeing crazy stuff like Jim Lee, Geoff Johns or Dan DiDio on national TV.

Just in case you aren't already listening to the Word Balloon podcast (seriously, why wouldn't you?), John interviewed James Tucker about producing the DC Animated DTVs:
