But Triton has never been so steroided out!  I much better appreciate the way Alan Davis has drawn him.  And I mean, heck.  It's ALAN DAAAAAVIS.

Isn't it?

Now waiting for The Raker Patriarch's jocular tones...!

Sure is!

Kirby drew Triton pretty Jacked-up (pun intended) as well....   and that ol' purple and green color scheme ala the Hulk, Green Goblin, Invincible Man, etc.

I know Karnak is supposed to be a martial arts master, but he looks like a kid having a tantrum. Or Austin Powers (Judo CHOP!)

Totally!  It's like a cheap toy design: the 'one-swivel chop'... for one arm to come down, the other must go up... Cheesy

This was great, was able to listen to it at work today with virtually no one there. Those are some bad Fantastic Four covers though...ugh.

You know what occurs to me?  Benjamin Grimm wore a helmet at first to hide the scarring of his ... face?  I guess he must've gotten used to that confluence of thick, orange, puckered, ossified, then cubic flesh.   Yuck

He wore it more to hide and protect it when it was initially all infected, open and oozing, and even that was just an impulsive stop-gap, as he came across his old helmet in the Watcher's 'watchery'/citidel and grabbed it.  These were some bad covers... Cheesy

...and now we remember why, thanks to 'exhibit A' above! Cheesy

Wyman's a funny artist... some of his stuff can be pretty nice, other times, it's embarrassingly derivative.

I had forgotten about the guy, too, until I saw his booth at NYCC this year.

He was at NYCC?! Holy crap. I'd love a sketch from that guy. I keep remembering his classic Avengers Unplugged issue...
