You know what occurs to me?  Benjamin Grimm wore a helmet at first to hide the scarring of his ... face?  I guess he must've gotten used to that confluence of thick, orange, puckered, ossified, then cubic flesh.

He wore it more to hide and protect it when it was initially all infected, open and oozing, and even that was just an impulsive stop-gap, as he came across his old helmet in the Watcher's 'watchery'/citidel and grabbed it.  These were some bad covers...

Wyman's a funny artist... some of his stuff can be pretty nice, other times, it's embarrassingly derivative. 

I had forgotten about the guy, too, until I saw his booth at NYCC this year.

He was at NYCC?! Holy crap. I'd love a sketch from that guy. I keep remembering his classic Avengers Unplugged issue...
