Artist, writer, and just swell guy Tony Fleecs is offering commissions for three dollars, plus shipping and handling. You know his work from Tell Them Johnny Wadd Was Here, Postcards, Wonderlost, Pulp Tales, and the autobiographical In My Lifetime. Hey folks!
So here's what's up: In these tough economic times you may have resigned yourself to not being able to afford commissioned sketches from world famous comic book artists... Well you're probably right. Luckily for you there are still plenty of non-world famous comic book artists who are willing to put out for ridiculously cheap prices. Here's the info: - $3 + 42˘ shipping
- 3 x 5"
- AT LEAST Pen & ink. Probably also ink washed or colored pencil or markered over top.
- Any character you want. (comics, TV, movies, caricature, whatever)
- 1 character per piece.
- Gets mailed out between 1 & 5 days after you order depending on my schedule.
You can get 1 sketch, you can get 30... You can get me to sketch every member of the Legion of Superheroes ever... Whatever you want.
Just Click the paypal button on the site to order or send $3.42 to tonyfleecs@hotmail.com.Check out his blog to see some of what's been requested so far. Update [5/18/09] -- Tony has been so overwhelmed with requests that he's had to raise his prices from $3 to a still-great-and-worth-doing $6 per sketch in order to adjust the demand levels with his income needs as he forgoes other freelance work to finish these.

Hey Guys, First of all, Big fan of the show. I've heard up through 50. Great to listen to while you're up all night trying to hit a deadline (Unless Vince starts talking about Beanworld in which case you could pass out and totally blow the deadline.) Thanks so much for spreading the word about the sketches. I'm having a good time busting these little guys out. Here's a look at some of the ones I did today if you guys are interested in seeing that sort of thing. If it's cool, I'll pop in and post more as I get more done. Thanks again. -Tony

I asked for Punisher, Heath Huston/Fear Agent and Black Bolt. Between these, my Jeff Lemire Nobody sketch and some others coming from Andy Jewitt and Robert Atkins I think my wife will get the hint about turning the basement into a comics room/study. If she doesn't get this hint I may have to resort to unfair tactics and get that foot tall Galactus statue or something to really hammer the point home.

Hi Tony,
Would an extra dollar USD cover it for mail to Canada, or is this offer only open to U.S. residents? At 3 dollars per sketch, I don't want you to pay for a single penny of S&H.

Same question. I think your sketches look awesome and would love to get a couple, but I also don't want you to have to deal with postage ridiculousness.

Yeah, I've done a couple for Canadians already. If you just add a dollar per sketch it should be fine. You can't use the pay now button though because that locks it in to the U.S. price. So just do a straight paypal.
I don't want to leave my northern brothers and sisters out. For the extra buck I'll stand on guard for thee.
Thanks for the interest. -T
