Fuck that show. I can't stand it. Once a "clairvoyant" enters the picture, one might as well throw credibility out the window. This show is a joke and casts a long, shitty shadow on the efforts of the few credible paranormal researchers left in the field.

Just watched my first episode. It's very dodgy and hyper-produced. Here's the letter from the family in Gold Beach, Oregon, who said the whole thing was manipulated, the psychic had access to all the info, etc.

I love Vince's reaction to Paranormal State. I should have mentioned the show's lack of credibility in my earlier post. It's entertaining but obviously very staged and (as Matt said) hyper-produced.

Lol perhaps my earlier statement was borderline retarded, but out of all those psychics that toad seems the most plausible to me. All the other ones always give happy sugar coated predictions, but that toad doesn't care how rude or messed up her answers are it's hilarious!

Honestly, I think some of those rude answers are actually worse. She is seriously causing emotional damage to the people who pay to listen to her make shit up--not to mention the financial harm she causes by taking their money through conscious bullshit.

I mean this with all sincerity: If anyone can watch any of those videos and believe that she is not an obvious charlatan, then more power to them. But I can't. And I really hope that those who do believe in her magical powers aren't ever faced with a serious issue that they seek her advice for. To me she ranks right up there with Peter Popoff among the worst of the worst and there is nothing redeeming that I can see within her. The emotional and financial damage that she causes people is reprehensible and her persistence and desire to seek out new victims only makes her worse.

I'm very sorry to be such a downer and I really hope that you don't think that you take my opinion of Sylvia personally or mistake it as an attack on you--I absolutely don't mean it to be taken that way. It's not like discussing UFOs or Bigfoot or whatever--I have not seen convincing evidence that any of those things exist, but at least those are claims that can hypothetically be quantified and supported with evidence if it ever becomes available. Sylvia is a whole different beast.
