Once more into the breach! Cover your heads as we lead the attack on Stray Bullets and Young Liars, Marvel's Dark Tower and The Stand, Proof, Kevin Maguire and Batman Confidential, collected editions vs. monthlies, Marcos Martin, comics in lieu of candy for Halloween (Gemstone, Archie, Bone, Shonen Jump, and more), Northlanders from Vertigo, APE Entertainment and Radical Comics, Red Mass for Mars, Whilce Portacio and Lenil Yu, Skaar Son of Hulk, Star Wars: Vector from Dark Horse, Eternals and Guardians of the Galaxy, the Incredible Hulk movie, depressing sales figures, Joe Kubert, Marvel Vs. DC (again and again and again...) and very little discussion on Final Crisis #2 (though no lack of trying). Bonus! KY Comic Guy turns in his best Neseman roast to date! Google Blobpus.

Great episode guys!

The guessing game was fun, not very close in the answers though, but fun none the less. Maybe one should try getting Proof, just to help out, but I don't really know how I can get the issues prior...

Loved the KY Comic Guy entry!

Love the bickering in the DC vs. MARVEL debate, that is maybe the best part of your show! That or drunk Chris.

I'm anticipating FINAL CRISIS #2, but I don't think I will be any wiser after reading it though... But good for you Vince.

Keep em coming...

If you're reading "The Good Prince" in Fables, you just GOTTA read its companion piece, "The Bad Prince" in Jack of Fables.  Jack of Fables is AWESOME stuffs.

I've been a little leery b/c the Jack character was probably my least favorite of all the Fables plot lines, and I was pretty happy to see them jettison him into exile. Now, since I love pretty much everything Sturges and Willingham have done otherwise, I'm very curious about checking this title out anyway. But it's not been a priority to this point.

A pleasant surprise!

But then I remembered why it was probably coming out early...and then I was sad.  Sad

But then I heard Mike's call and couldn't help but laugh!  Cheesy

But then I almost ran over a group of blue haired joggers and wondered why one of them thought spandex would do anything but make her look like a gassy walrus and was puzzled. Huh?

I've been on an emotional rollercoaster this morning all thanks to you guys.

You know, Wood's little run of quick discussions about various comics reminds me of how good the second and third tier Marvel and DC books are right now. GL Corps, Booster, Blue Beetle, Guardians of the Galaxy, Nova, Incredible Herc, and the list goes on. There's a lot of really good stuff coming out under the shadow of these giant events. It's just a shame no one's ordering them...

And as someone who's obsessed with Marvel cosmic (it's what got me interested in comics in the first place), I would like to thank DNA for giving me my universe back. Guardians of the Galaxy is AWESOME. This strage mix of some kind of manic Dirty Dozen menagerie and the Infinity Watch just has me tickled. And Nova's no slouch either these days.

Now, I know I'm slightly crazy.  But did I or did I not hear crickets coming across on someone's mic?  I'm betting it was David's Supernew Highpowered Samson mic.  In the back yard, were we?  I also heard someone snapping their fingers as if motioning to a dog, and I heard someone keying their microwave oven. Huh?

KY Comic Guy--you betta WORK boy!!!!!  You done outdid yourself.  The audio mixing force is strong within this one...

No, I still use the headset for this show.

It sounded like someone was clipping toenails at one point.  But in my mind it was the snipping of a cigar.  I hope.  That's more manly, right, Chris?

I dont think there is anything wrong with writing a comic that you hope will get picked up as a movie. It seems kind of comicbook snobbish to look down on comic writers who do.

I was laughing to myself when I first heard the crickets. Throw in a couple frogs and puking sailors and it would be the Bullpen all over again. Wink

I know my windows were open, so the crickets could have come from my background noise.  I haven't heard them yet, though.  Whereabouts they at in the episode?

I picked a spot and heard them immediately.  Start at 28:20 and while Chris is speaking, you'll hear them.  It continues throughout the show.  And back when Chris asked "Alright who's laughing?"  I thought he was reacting to the crickets and mistaking them for someone laughing.
