Okay I am sure I will abandon this project as quickly as all my other ones but until then... I have a copy of the 44 years of the FF cd-rom that I never read since I don't like reading comics on a computer screen. So partly inspired by Neseman's 100 days of 100 Bullets and part excitement for the Hickman run I thought it would be neat to post a random panel from Fantastic Four starting with issue #1 and going until the end of time, or you know, until I get lazy and quit. I couldn't resist this panel from issue #1: |

Nice! I'm reading thru the Masterworks Vol 1, so I'll be right there beside you....at least until issue #10, then I'll have to wait for Vol 2.  |

I am so glad you asked that question Steve, cause it was a pain in the ass.
I view it full screen, then hit print screen, then paste in photoshop and crop out the panel and save as a jpg. The cd is protected and I can understand why but still a pain to deal with.

I guess you're running Windows, Bryan? That's what I was wondering. On a Mac, you'd be able to simply do a screen capture and crop the image using a keyboard command. isn't that possible on a PC? I'm a Mac guy so I don't know. Bryan, I love this idea! I'll keep checking it out as long as you keep posting those panels.  Jim |

Isn't that possible on a PC? Pressing PRINT KEY puts the screen in the clipboard and you can edit it in MS Paint or PhotoShop or any image editing program. |

You guys is soooooo smart! S-M-R-T, smart! (thanks!) It's funny, 'cause the cd-rom boasts the freedom to print a page/comic from it.....but not so much a panel, eh? Anywho, I will be attempting these tricks later!  |

Page two issue two: The Thing(spoiler alert: actually a Skrull) bustin up an underwater support post to an oil rig: I love the "and then" we need more of those, and throw in a few "meanwhiles" for good measure. |

I've been wanting to read the Lee/Kirby run this year, but it just hasn't happened...yet. The Essentials are waiting for me on my bookshelf.
I always toss around the idea of doing 10-15 minute podcasts per issue with me, the kinda FF virgin, and a life-long devotee.
One day.

I just read the 3rd Tom Strong trade by Alan Moore, Chris Sprouse and Karl Story, the last story of the last issue being an 8-pager with Tom and daughter dimensionally miniaturized and trapped in a comic book prison...the issue cleverly ends with Tom holding in place a caption box such as 'later...', or 'and then...' or something of the like, the Strongs back home in their trophy room, thanking the inhabitants of the comic book for the kind gift of the caption box as a souvenier. |

I LOVE those old cutaways/diagrams. Quitely did a little of that in Batman and Robin #1.
Now all we need are the "autographed" FF pin-ups.

I'm such a nerd for those cutaways. I think my favourite one has to be from Iron Man when they show Stark Industries.
Love that the Fantastic Four have a "Giant Map Room". I'm sure that's been remodeled a few times over the years.
