I thought Wednesday Comics was all about folding your comics in half to prove how much you love them?

** What I think of Wed Comics comment suppressed **

I don't want to turn the FF Panel-a-day thread into another Wednesday Comics thread.

Suffice to say: Today Sue would not be holding a newspaper, maybe she'd be looking at her iPhone with a wistful look.......

Rabble-rouser.

I love that phrasing: "I dare not..."  Very Wuthering Heights.   See, comics am literature!  Wink

Oh dude, hell YES.  When you overhear a dude whipping out the words "kudos" "moniker" or "zounds" do you know you're in the company of an oldschool comics reader!

Roll On Floor Laughing

I Hearts today's splash page panel. That's just the kind of page that made the Lee/Kirby FF great, right down to the captions beneath the credits.

Oh man, did Stan Lee love his arbitrary time limits... a spray that will allow you to breathe underwater isn't good enough, we'd better make sure it only lasts for exactly one hour! Then we can remind the kids every couple pages that there's a ticking clock on how long the spray will work, and then eventually Sue's spray will wear off and everyone'll think she's dead and Reed and Namor'll have to work together to save her and it'll be a big dramatic moment.

Hey, actually, that does sound a lot better than just underwater spray...  Thinking

LOL! I do love those arbitrary time limits (and the idea of a self-perpetuating layer of oxygen)!

That panel is a perfect example of why I love those early FF comics. Reed had an invention for everything and Ben had a gripe for every occasion. Smiley

Man imagine if Billy Mays had been able to do commercials for Reed Richards.

Day 34 issue 34:

Wha---?  Wait now ... no!  I call shenanigans.  Sue could move herself and Reed faster on force fields than Reed could on wheel-legs that hw ... what, is he spinning them like lasso coils?

Nah, I roll with it (hah!). Even though it seems a little too much player for Reed, it could be done. I imagine it like a somersault with only using your feet. Can we take a sec and look at the women in the red dress? What's happening to her? Is she pregnant and is about to regurgitate her dinner while being at awe? Or is she a zombie, and this issue is the first zombie issue ever? Was Jack Kirby even in that regard before his peers?

Looks like that might be a Marvel/DC crossover of sorts.
