Once again, Reed struggles to make the perfect cup of coffee.
Maybe if he grew more stubble.

So true. Stubble makes you smarter.

Okay, I'm officially lost.........,"Clare-MONT!" Claremont kept trotting his elements through the FF's pages. Day 436 Issue 436: (technically two and a quarter panels) Here Sue is punching one of those Technarc Excalibur Cross-Time Caper villains. This here is Excalibur Captain Britain's arch-nemesis who killed and replaced his lady love Courtney Ross, And here the FF have been bodyswitched, on the isle of Genosha if memory serves. Ben got to say "I Am Curious Yellow (Black)" for a day ala Lois Lane. Sue's in the brunette's body and Johnny is the pudgy, bespected man. Just BORING and I'd already read that stuff in Excalibur. Claremont totally got stuck on his own creativity. The ONE thing he gave the FF was Alyssa Moy.

Day 441 Issue 441: Very reminiscent of John Byrne's classic Marvel Two-In-One #50.

I really miss this era of Larroca art. His current photo-reference-y stuff leaves be cold.

Yup. I agree. I'd trade him in for the old model too.

Firestar looks like she's veiled at a funeral, while Ben looks like a flasher that forgot to take off his pants before he left the house!

If I recall correctly, Warbird was boozing it up at the time.

George Perez wasn't the greatest costume designer sometimes on that Avengers run. Firestar looked way better than the costume he eventually gave Justice You had to bring up the flasher thing just as I'm reading the FF Roast where the Thing is running around naked? If I recall correctly, Warbird was boozing it up at the time.
That is correct.

So, whirlwindx, you hadda problem with Ben nostalgically don his old helmet in a nod to the first few issues of FF, but are you cool with this ridiculous union suit Ben's got going? I think Salvador forgot to cover his arms, too!

Oh so that's why he donned the helmet? but are you cool with this ridiculous union suit Ben's got going? I think Salvador forgot to cover his arms, too! I've never been a big fan of the Thing wearing costumes that covered him up a lot since he's all rocky. But maybe it matched better with the helmet?

One of these days were going to pin down what trauma happened to make you so obsessed with the helmet. And we'll figure out which is better Larroca FF or Larroca Invincible Iron Man.

Regarding the helmet, I just remember you (I think) referring to it as part of the laundry list of why you thought the DeFalco/Ryan/Bulanadi run was hokey. I thought it was neat for the very few issues its ugly head was reared. As for which Larroca I like better......neither....I don't really care for his art/designs/page and/or panel composition. I've seen a few pin-ups and covers that he's done that have looked pretty nice, but that's about all the accolades I can give the guy's work.
