I just read the 3rd Tom Strong trade by Alan Moore, Chris Sprouse and Karl Story, the last story of the last issue being an 8-pager with Tom and daughter dimensionally miniaturized and trapped in a comic book prison...the issue cleverly ends with Tom holding in place a caption box such as 'later...', or 'and then...' or something of the like, the Strongs back home in their trophy room, thanking the inhabitants of the comic book for the kind gift of the caption box as a souvenier. Cheesy

Awesome. I think I have that issue, I've been meaning to dig em' out and reread them before I listen to the Society of Evil League of Nobodies podcast Tom Strong episode.

I love the "and then" we need more of those, and throw in a few "meanwhiles" for good measure.

They were sure preoccupied with missiles.  Wink

Also: did they ever do any photo analysis?  CSI: Baxter Building.

day three, issue three, Baxter Building cutaway panel:

I LOVED the cutaway panels!!!  God, I used to sit a dream for hours what the rest of teh Baxter Building looked like.

Tim Story could REALLY have afforded to do one of these effects shots when he tried showing the "Daily Life In The BB With The FF" montage scene.  REALLY really.

Cold War baby!  So does Reed have long range missiles currently in the Baxter Building?  Granted he has more gamma weapons than many NATO members.

I'm such a nerd for those cutaways. I think my favourite one has to be from Iron Man when they show Stark Industries.

Love that the Fantastic Four have a "Giant Map Room". I'm sure that's been remodeled a few times over the years.

My favorite cutaway of all time was in G.I. Joe #1 where they outline The Pit -- man, I had a coloring book of that -- awesommmmmeeee.

Great project, BTW Bryan.  I'm digging this.

These are great, and as someone that has never read any Fantastic Four I can't believe how much these little snippets draw you in. I wonder if doing that for any comic series would have the same affect?

Also you really notice the art, when you only have one panel at a time. Great idea.
