New Mutant is correct. I love the idea of Reed as a bullet.
Strictly from memory!!  WOOO!!  I also remember having a superball back in the day, comparing its physics to him, and thinking how HIGH Reed must have been able to bounce!!  Was there dialog in the issue to explain that?!

Oh dude, good TOIMES!!!  Roll On Floor Laughing

Day 83 Issue 83:

So is there an actual title for those exploso-lines? Coupled with the white-hot/yellow sunburst pattern...nothing seems to have matched that since.  And it's like contemplating how the world's first cake was made ... how did Jack know those lines would make the picture pop like that?  How'd he know that accenting the powerful thews of the mighty Black Bolt would give him such a solid stance?

Here's to bryanb...Chief Acolyte and Groundskeeper of the Kirby Shrine!

Nick Fury Log: Entry 00.05.099.061.01.2
"A good night. Girl next to me doesn't know, that I'm leavin' in a couple of minutes. I leave her a note. Conspicuous placed next to her plate for breakfast. I take a sip of a strong one, and head to the door. That's when I find a purple robot arm in front of my door. Heh, work does stop at my front door. Now, let's see what Reed thinks about this."

Ps: Don't ever forget your eyepatch again. The neighbours kid needs therapy now.

I cringed at the dialogue...
However, I have to say that Doom's setup is to be desired, and we're in the year 2009. That's forty years after the issue was made! I wish that Kirby would design my Pc. Sigh.

It's fun to look at Kirby's technology drawings and play "spot the inspiration".  In this console, we've got a Coca-Cola machine, the engine of a car, one of the those viewfinder things you find at landmarks, and what appears to be either a reel to reel or a DJ's turntable setup, among other wondrous things.  Wink

SO so Kirby.  SO nice.  I realize my earliest attempts at drawing was to make devices like his, not even realizing it was ONE artist's interpretation.  Again, I never knew the impact Kirby made on me!  I'm like Vince without the genius and elocution.

Really? I love that dialogue! Lee wrote dialogue as dynamic as Kirby's drawings.

Very cool! I don't think I've played that game often enough and I like it... but I can't seem to spot the Coca-Cola machine. Can you help me out?

I shouldn't have written "Coca-Cola" specifically....actually, it looks more like a jukebox than a vending machine.  Top right.

I can see the Coca-Cola machine there.  The three vertical panels or the ride side of the face, one that you would pop to get yer sodey, and the big sideways panel with the Coke swoosh on the left face! Yes

Edit:  I just realized--they didn't HAVE our type of sodey machines with the big plastic buttons to pop for the sodey back in that day!  Jack Kirby, Futurian!!
