Everyone thinks that Sue's just going to roll over or be clueless, but she's taking charge during a series of insanely intense, unpredictable situations/adventures. I've been saying it every day, but I love it! Go Sue (has she even been on the team since this run?....they've again put her on the back burner of the back burner)!!

In the Hickmans, she stepped up to be the Earth ambassador to the fish people while everyone was waffling around. And in the Weiringo/Waid's she was Momma Bear when Doom screwed with pre-genius, proper-toddler Valeria.

Sorry, blokes! MemoryFAIL! It won't be for another 10 issues before Miss Cassie Lang takes a prominent supporting role, but O! What a support! Check it out! And again, this little girl is now Stature of the Young Avengers and Dan Slott's Mighty Avengers. This is how Marvel Time and kid-aging should be. So OKAY, it took twenty years for Cassie to become a young woman, but at least she DID. The only excuse Franklin has is that he's got funky off-the-charts powers, so it HAS to be affecting him somehow. It just hasn't been written into continuity yet. Anyway... sorry to jump ahead, Uncle Bryan!

Wait a second Sue's covered up now? And they are showing Dr. Doom's face? It's not even in shadow?

Wait a second Sue's covered up now? And they are showing Dr. Doom's face? It's not even in shadow? It's a classic suit she put on because the other one got shredded. It's a loaner. And that's not Doom. It's her father-in-law, Nathaniel Richards, playing dress-up in Latveria. The next ten issues are kind of a lil too wonky for me, but from that scene it progresses into explaining how Nathaniel snatched Franklin and made him a psychic teenager, and what he plans to do with them all. In Lateveria. In D. Doom's armor. And stuff.

That's neat. Karma. Doesn't that just create another problem if you use that for kid-aging what happens when the kids that grow up have kids who have kids who have kids while the adults have barely aged. If people have trouble with Franklin's aging shouldn’t there be trouble with the adults aging too? Or is that a better of two evils? I never dwell on it too long but I sometimes find it fascinating what others dwell on. It's a classic suit she put on because the other one got shredded. It's a loaner. And that's not Doom. In Lateveria. In D. Doom's armor. And stuff. I guess that makes sense This is getting a little wild. I obviously don't remember enough of this stuff from Steve R's great segment on this run from Marvel Noise.

I never dwell on it too long but I sometimes find it fascinating what others dwell on. I guess that makes sense This is getting a little wild. I obviously don't remember enough of this stuff from Steve R's great segment on this run from Marvel Noise. In the 70 years of Marvel Comics, I think there has only been one generation of kids who have aged. And I do believe every one of the kids in that crowd have steadily aged, except Franklin. Kitty and the New Mutants have advanced to legal drinking age. Pietro & Crystal's Luna advanced from baby to speaking little girl (who called her daddy on some foul isht) Valeria Power Pack, (Julie & Alex Power) Cassie Lang And of the first generational young-adults, I believe they've aged consistently as well; Peter Parker graduated high school & college & got married Sue Storm got married Johnny Storm got married Rick Jones got married Patsy Walker got married Bruce Banner got Married And of the established adults at Marvel's inception, I easily saw the passage of time as having taken them from their early 20's to their late thirties. Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Warren, Bobby (in his case, possibly early teens to late twenties now) and all the rest. The only characters who may have legitimate issues with aging are due to story content; Magneto was de-aged Susan Richards, Reed Richards, Ben Grimm were rapidly aged then reversed to a younger age than they were before they were rapid-aged. Alicia was kidnapped and held off planet for a few years (see Einstein's theory of relativity) Profeesor X was reborn in a clone body after the Brood ate him up. Captain America and Bucky were freeze dried. Namor is The First Mutant who can fly and breathe water for no reason, so I'll put "doesn't age" in there as well. Same with Namora. Wolverine is Wolverine. Now. What. The. UFCK. Is Franklin Richards' deal? Lil' Dude was born when I was like, frikkin' SIX years old. ME!! (Dear Readers; because I left out SO many other Marvel Characters, I'm going to make this it's own thread and invite you and others to do me the honors of filling in my gaps.)

Don't say "of course" to people who people who say you should die. It's way too accommodating.

I wonder if these are the same Monastery guys from that Lobdell/Claremont FF era. Regardless it's interesting something like that popped up again later.
