That's a serious case of Dr.Doom/Jonah Hex face. First Johnny needed his leg transcendentalized or disarrated and now Reed needs that done for his face. He would be a grumpy Thing. And hey look that baby's not annoying yet.

Been in the mountains for two days so a few behind on these: Day 499 Issue 499: And even after almost 40 years, Waid and Wieringo breath new life into Doctor Doom.

I wasn't a fan of that costume. They stumbled on that to me in this run.

I think the costume wasn't supposed to look that great. Doom was throwing away everything he was in order to beat the FF. His regal appearance was just another sacrifice. The "magic" costume looked pretty awful, but it made sense storywise. I loved this arc, but I was obviously glad to see Doom back in his original duds down the road.

I forgot and still do not remember that Mike Weiringo didn't rock steady from his start throughout to the last ish he did. Who filled in here? (To the DVD, Batman ...!)

The Thing reminds me of a Fisher-Price Oscar the Grouch I had as a kid. Does his brow collapse to his jaw to conceal his face?

It's a trap! Don't worry, there doesn't appear to be a floor. We can escape that way.

Those robots were probably just as effective as storm troppers. Now Doom-bots on the other hand...

Mark Buckingham did some work. We also get some Howard Porter.
