My wife was helping me sort through my regina pile last night (sounds dirty). She asked "why the hell is it called a regina pile, that sounds really stupid"?

I told her I have no idea ... so ... why is it called a regina pile?

N Travis N

From earlier in the thread:

And since I can't even remember in which episode it's in, a guy named Logan from Canada called in to lambaste our stunning hosts for week after week mentioning a title but quickly disclaiming that they hadn't yet read it.  He was brutal!  (They use a lot of f-bombs in Canada, it seems!)  He identified himself as being from a town named "Regina" which, hilariously enough, rhymes with "vagina"

So Vince, ever the creative genius, having heard this voicemail before us, prefaced it by saying that this guy Logan (from Canada--Chris was very suspect about it) had given the podcast a new term.  Whenever you have books that you've bought but haven't rwad yet, you can just say "regina" instead of "yup, I bought it but I didn't read it yet."

Since that episode, Logan called back and made amends--he sounded very humble, and like a nice guy actually, so his diatribe was no longer a hit-and-run, but a comment from a listener which had some merit.  And yes, his name is actually Logan.

And that's "regina!"

So yeah listen to more 11 O`clock comics   Cheesy

So I don't know if this is possible but I was thinking it would be cool if there was some way we could all list and track our Regina piles together, rather than constantly posting on the thread have some sort of common location where everyone who wanted to could upload and track their regina pile.  I was wondering if Google docs would have anything like this or if someone else might know of any other way to do it.  IDK I just thought it might be a cool additional thing, if anyone has any ideas on how this might be done let me know I'd be happy to do the legwork on it.

There's sites out there that will let you track your bookshelves and what your currently reading but it's not perfect. I would be neat to see everyone's regina and then see a percentage list for what books appear most in a regina. But then I can get really stats crazy.

Should be able too but I'm not super familiar with google docs. With just a simple Excel document someone could do something but I'm sure there's something more creative than that.

All right guys I created a goodreads private group for this forum post.  It is searchable and I am the modorator.  This is the best I could come up with since I am horrible programmer.  Basically we could add books that are in our piles and list them as un read.  That way we can have discussions for each book that is in our pile.  We could also see what is the most un read book in the Regina piles of the EOC.  Let me know what you think

I had my non-Essential/Showcase & MMW regina pile down to 4 trades and then my DCBS box came.  It is now back up to 22 trades.  I am never going to get to the MMWs.

Hey, work has been a beast lately and it's cutting into my reading time.  Cry I do try to at least read 2 trades a week. But if I have to be completly honest. These past few months have been the only time that I could actually afford to buy this many books (thanks to DCBS). Most of these books on my list have been bought in the last six months and a few are rereads like Hellboy, Gunsmith Cats, Terminator, Penny Century.

See what happens when you get a good discount and have gaps in your collection?

I'd gotten caught up on a few things in the last few weeks.  Since we moved in April I had my pile mixed in with my long boxes, so I couldn't remember what all was there.  Last night I went looking for my trades, and finding a few things somewhere in 43 longboxes is beyond a pain in the ass.

My current pile is:

Witchblade Compendium Vol 1
Darkness Compendium Vol 1
Scud the Disposable Assassin the Whole Shibang
Booster Gold Showcase
Warlord Showcase
Tomb of Dracula Vol 1 Omnibus
Tomb of Dracula Vol 2 Omnibus
Secret Wars II Omnibus is on the way
I want to reread and finish off Akira, but I have to get volumes 5 and 6 (which are hard to find).

Not a long list, but everything is a large collection.
