Re: The aforementioned short fiction about Dunk and Egg are great. Though they aren't explicit in references, you still have to connect your own dots with dates and family names, there are numerous touches that the perceptive reader will take with them to the book series.
I do think the comics adapting them are pretty useless.

WHAT THE DEVIL. Back from the dead! Good sir since you've last posted I've finished the 5th book and started reading through the entire saga again I had some questions for your opinion on some developments... now to dig them up.

While the Lannisters would appeal to me for the reasons Wood states (I'd throw in - though I think its connected with the rest - a leader who normal people don't trifle with).
I think I'd go with Dorne.

i just started on dance with dragons, and the TV show characters have replaced the characters i've built up in my head from reading the earlier books. -mike
That's why I haven't watched a single episode. My girlfriend doesn't understand this…we even have fights about it. Sure, it may be childish to sit in the other room with a pillow over my head while she watches them, but I just don't want the best looking dwarf in London to be my Tyrion. Is that so much to ask?

Yeh Doene all the way. If only for the spicy food and the women.

It's a good teaser that makes you feel for Stannis in a way I never did in the books (emotionally, perhaps rationally, yes). Not sure that's a good thing, but it's interesting.

Also let me add while Dorne is my choice for some reasons, a good argument could be made for Highgarden, specifically if you're part of House Hightower. Never hurts to have your education on.

If I had to join a house, it would definitely be Dorne... They seem slightly more reasonable then most of the others and their power base seems way more secure.

Every tv show and every movie should have him in the background somewhere dissecting an elk.
