The Mondo Marvel Panel has started and so has Pat's texting. Not a lot of information here, just a quick note. We can flesh 'em out later. - X-Men Noir: Mark of Cain
- Jefte Palo on Doctor Voodoo
- Hudlin and Cowan on Cap/Black Panther

Mark Waid: Thunderbolt’s mustache goes into the Negative Zone, where it enjoys its own separate adventures that will hopefully someday be told. Our Hulk needs no mustache. Muttonchops, perhaps.

Who is Jefte Palo?
He's done a Moon Knight Annual, a Punisher Special, a Wolverine One-Shot, and the three issue Black Panther Secret Invasion story.

- Jefte Palo on Doctor Voodoo
For this they couldn't put the name in the solicitations? Now I know how everyone in the MU must've felt when Spider-Man unmasked... " Who?"

I liked Jefte Palo on the Black Panther Secret Invasion story. Him plus Remender on Brother Voodoo I might check out, if the price is right.

I looked him up, his art's quite nice and I think will be a good fit: Still wondering why the big mystery though.

It could be possible that he wasn't commited to the book until this morning.
Imagine the kvetching going on if one artist was listed in the solicits and that fell through before the first issue went into production.

Plus you've gotta have plenty of announcements for the big con, right?
I think he'll definitely strike the right mood for Doctor Voodoo. Is that a Thundercats logo in that picture?

Plus you've gotta have plenty of announcements for the big con, right? There's that, too. They could have known for weeks and this is their way of rewarding up a dependable worker by hyping his first ongoing where he's on it from the beginning. I could see Palo being in the next batch Young Guns. Keep in mind I have no knowledge of him being an on time guy, that's just me throwing it out there. Same with his how fast he may be in getting pages done. But the first issue isn't out until October, so maybe starting on the book now means we get more than four issues before a fill-in is needed. I think he'll definitely strike the right mood for Doctor Voodoo. I agree. Is that a Thundercats logo in that picture? HA!! PLUS: Denys Cowan on a Black Panther and Captain America!!

You can say that all you want. Don't matter. It's Denys FUCKING Cowan and that's all there is to it. And I didn't mind the wedding issue or the first few issues of the current Black Panther series.

Looks like it was an announcement to be made at the convention since there was interior art at the Mondo Marvel Panel from Palo. That's cool. Good for him.

Not a text from Pat, but a quote from someone some love to hate and something that's probably at home in this thread (maybe):
“When I took over as editor-in-chief, Tom DeFalco, who was the editor-in-chief before Bob Harras, who I took over the job from, he came into my office, smacked me on the back — Tom’s a friend — and said, ‘I’m gonna give you some advice. From this point on, you have a very big target on your back. You’re going to have to have very broad shoulders. If you’re not going to do that, you’re not going to like this job.’ And at the end of the day, I’m making comic books. So I have some comic book fans that’re making fun of me. I’m not trying to resolve the economy, I’m not trying to solve things between Palestine and Israel, you know, it’s comic books and the worst thing we do is we kill off some trees and we piss off some fanboys. But as long as we do our jobs right, at the end of the day, I want to be able to look back when I either get shown the door or I walk out of it myself, I want to be able to look back and say, we gave everybody a great ride. The story’s really good. It’s all about story.” – Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada, on dealing with a vocal fanbase
