Forgive me if there is already a similar thread, but going through the old FF comics looking for the daily panel I keep coming across cool ads. I would give my left nut for these shirts:

I always love seeing these ads. Not just for the merchandise, but the prices - $1.50 / shirt + 15 cents postage AND handling! I got a couple of catalogs from the quarter bin last month. I'll try to do some scans later today.

A few years ago, I found a re-issue of that Kirby Thor shirt at Wal-mart. I wish they woould have re-issued the whole series. Sadly, it was not $1.50. Bean

Being from the UK comic book ads have given me a slightly warped view of the States as that's how I learned about good ol' USA. I was always gutted about the things I couldn't get. I almost bust bust a nut the first time I saw Oreos in my local supermarket, don't judge me you always covet what you can't get.

I had the Spidey & FF shirts. Well, reproductions of them by Graphitti Designs. I got them about 10 years ago from The Comics Dungeon in Seattle. It seems like they had a lot of the Kirby/Ditko-era shirts in this ad, actually. Good stuff.

I have been inspired by the FF panel a day post. I will be digging through my FF and Ironman DVDs to find vintage adds that are funny, strange or just amusing. I will not meet the post a day standard that bryanb has set, but I will try and find the best of the best. Some days I may post 2 or 3 ads, some days I may not post at all. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do. Here is my first entry. Fantastic Four #159. June 1975. Count Dante. What can I say? White guy afro. "Deadliest man alive"! Karate and Kung Fu were BIG back in the 70's. I love this ad. Bean

Here's another treat. Not an add but an old favorite from the 70's. The Marvel Value Stamp. I have no idea what you were supposed to do with these, but I have a lot of "flea market" books that are missing the lower corner of the page where someone clipped their Marvel Value Stamp. Since I started with martial arts, I thought Shang-Chi was appropriate. Bean
