If you are an independent comics creator, step on up and tell us about your creations. Post pictures, links, synopses, contact information, incriminating photos of David, whatever it takes to get your stuff seen. The more eyes, the merrier.

Come on, Steve, Dave, Pat, etc. Slap some images on this puppy.  Rock Horns

Can a mod please merge this thread with the Indie Comic Creators one. I didn't notice there was already a specific place to plug one's indie book.

Thanks.  Embarrassed

Okay, so, it's now a 15 page preview (half the issue) as to give everyone a better idea what the book is all about.
I will concede though that the original preview wasn't the most exciting few pages in the world to show off.

Timothy did the teaser image, but he's going to love to hear that.

Pope is a huge influence on me.  Sometimes I worry it's to obvious.  I was reading an interviews with Pope where he was quoted saying imitation is not really flattery.  Yikes!   Whistle

Did anyone have a chance to read my book or the preview yet?
Any feedback would be awesome and gives me something to think about for the next issue.
Thanks!  Thumbs Up

Well I should warn you my tastes are likely not to the mainstream.  I read Marvel and DC but usually the titles that get canceled. I read a smattering of digital.  I think the art is good but if it is a digital release, I would think about how the panels move.  Not sure if the preview mechanism is the same after purchase but some panels seemed compressed.  The lower panels often had the language obscured.  It also seemed exposition heavy.  If we are going to be returning to these characters, I think you can drop much of that exposition and dribble it out of the next few issues.  I think you could just have the opening panel of 1-1 and then jump to the sprite.  I think 3-1 could also be cut back.  By cutting back on those, you push the story forward and get the reader more into it.  At this point I don't have much to go on.  Just my  Two Cents  Best luck.

I really enjoy the setup in Multiplayer.  I'll buy the issue when I get back home (I'm away on a conference).  I personally did not find it too exposition heavy.  You do an awesome job heavily referencing Zelda, Street Fighter etc. without simply retelling the game narratives.  I wish you luck in the project and hope it goes well for you.  The book looks nice and professional, and I'm assuming these character profiles are all set up towards the larger adventure against the oncoming darkness.  Nice idea and execution.

Thanks guys. This is great stuff to keep in mind.

I'll definitely be cutting back on the exposition in the second issue. What I was originally going for was density, in that there's going to be a lot of stuff that happens/a lot to read in each issue but now I realize I have to let the story breathe. It's definitely a balancing act, that's for sure.

Edit:

Multiplayer #1 is only $0.99 now.

I'm still figuring out the best price point for this thing and I hope you guys check it out.

Thanks! Smiley

Nicely done.  Love the story and the art.  One concern, I think the purple gutters overpower the panels.  Thanks for sharing.   Not Worthy

Agreed. A lighter color would push them further back, so the panels would be sitting on top of everything else, instead of behind the borders.

Would that be a bad thing?

I really enjoyed the whole sequence. I wonder what would happen if you played around with the intensity of the purple instead of the value. I do think the borders are fighting with what's inside them, but most of the time I think it does what you want it to, especially with all those yellows. It works to subdue the red panels as well.
