Hey guys, sorry to drag up a few month old thread, but I thought I would share a site with some fellow Australians for hunting bargins.

http://www.booko.com.au/

Most of the time time it hits Book depository UK but sometimes not.

Not much wrong with book depository though, they are pretty cheap and no postage. I just hate how every time I have ordered through them they all get shipped individually.

That is an awesome site.  You are officially my hero for the day!

If you are just waiting for trades then i would definitely recommend www.bookdepository.co.uk.
free shipping worldwide and the prices are way cheaper than retail.
I'm saving about 25-30% and sometimes even more on my trades. I really love my LCBS (alternate worlds) but i simply cannot ignore the cost savings. With a 10% discount voucher I got Captain Britain omnibus for about $80, Vrubaker's Daredevil omnibus for about $66. Fear Agent trades, Sandman mystery theatre for about $13. I'll get the next Iron Man HC for $18.
For some reason they dispatch them one at a time, so no waiting for an entire order to be filled and it takes about 10 days to get here (a bit longer around holiday time). Customer service is very helpful and responsive as well.
A few tips -
when looking for DC books, also try looking by publisher for titan books, they can be a lot cheaper even though they are the same editions.
their search function can be a bit messed up (although they are improving). the subtitles of a trade aren't usually listed, and they can list something as TP when it is HC but the ISBNs usually clear that up. Just sometimes needs a bit more detective work than amazon.
My strongest reocmmendation.

Sorry I've come to this thread so late, I only just noticed it!

I didn't know there were so many other Aussies on the boards here, and just wanted to say g'day, from an ex-pat now living OS. Thumbs Up

Yeah we are going to have to get back for another Skype chat Milesy. I've been moving house etc and generally being unmotivated. Maybe a few others on here want to join in a skype chat session?

Hey guys, any of the melbourne 11 O'Clockers know if their LCS has any issues of the Ted Kord Blue Beetle series from 1985 or so? Trying to get the whole series, and not having much luck. The only ebay I can find with the whole thing doesn't ship to Aus.

I never seen them at my local "R Us" but for back issues the best bets are Alternate Worlds that i'm guessing you tired already Andrew, so my second bet would be "Collectors Edge" in moone Ponds

FYi Book depository has massively hiked their prices in the last day or so  Angry. Many comics have doubled in price. I'm lucky I did all my ordering through till may back in December. So much for the golden age of internet buying in a global economy.  Jackoff

Yeah Book Depository have been creeping up lately. Better World Books is the place to go atm. The range isn't as extensive but usually cheaper than everywhere else. Amazon is my other choice.

If you live in Sydney, or near it, kinokuniya has a 20% off all graphic novels and manga for the month. Pretty good prices on most there stuff already, and a good range. Still find cheaper online though of course.

I looked at it in the store, i do want to check it out but think i'll wait to trade, in fact i want to check out the whole battlefeild line, it seems like good garth ennis (punisher Maxx) to me and not bad garth ennis (Boys )

(not that boys is bad but i don't care for the over violent/gross situations he does, but i really like his character work and i find it takes away from that)

I've just started reading Ellis ... I've read the first volume of the Boys and while gross did find kind of hypnotic. 11 o'clockers said good things about Battlefields but I'm supposed to be reigning things in ... Roll Eyes

Battlefields series is awesome. I am ordering the HC very soon and I'm WFTT on the new one. I've read about 6 pages of the first issue and it looks cool.
