Hats off to Joe Q for talking about this in an open forum, as someone intimately familiar with the legal limitations in discussing pending mergers, he had to jump through a few hoops with legal to give this interview. Respect to him for that.

its kinda what i expected. most of the stuff they asked him is either things he doesnt know, or things he would be in serious trouble if he dropped knowledge on.

On a side note, if Joe Q bought 10 shares of marvel every month, would SEC allow him to buy those ten shares after he found out about acquisition but before it was announced?

Fair question. Yes, they would.

Although most companies have restrictions against that sort of thing.

I haven't had a minute to sit and read the whole thing yet but I did stop to read his response on OGNs.

As much as I love the format and am guilty of saying "yeah, this story shoulda been an OGN", I understand where he's coming from with his answer (especially from a business standpoint).

The OGN comments struck me too, I was unaware that was his long-standing position.
