I guess you missed azn's post where you and I tag off and it's my turn to keep Wood company.

So Wood is the common theme in this?

Hmmmmmm.

Admit it, that's you.  You do voice acting work on the side.  Go ahead, admit it.  That was really you wasn't it?

Not me. Though I should just put it on my acting resume. No one will know the difference.

I can't win.  Either I laugh and wake the house or I keep it in and continue my Muttley impersonation.

Thanks again for doing the podcast!

-Manhattans were the wannabe high class drink when I was in high school. When a girl asked for Manhattan at a club I knew it was in for an expensive night. You know that drink that was like $8 (this was in the 90's when $8 filled up half a tank of gas in an Acura) when the shots were on special for $2?

-As my mom said. If the A-bomb wasn’t dropped - you’d all be speaking Japanese right now and comic fans would have better hygiene in general!

-When you talk EC art you can’t sleep on Jack Kamen (the ladies people, the ladies) and Reed Crandall.

- Deadwood was brilliant, maybe the best show I’d ever seen.

The Cannonball Run outtakes always get me.
I can't stop watching when they start.

As far as talking EC artists goes, it's rough because you're always gonna leave somebody out. What an AMAZING collection of artists!

In my mind, X-Files ended in the middle of Season 6.  "Two Fathers/One Son" is the perfect ending for me.  Everything after that doesn't exist (but I do want to pick up the Super Soldiers box set to see just how messed up they made it near the end).

Wood, the next Starman Omnibus comes out in 1/09 and vol. 3 comes out I believe in the 3rd Quarter 2009.  That should wrap up Tony Harris' run on the series, as his last issue was #45.

First I admit that I'm new around these parts.  I'm introduced to David A Price from Marvel Noise, and then you other fine gentlemen from this 'cast right here (but from Ep 1!).

So in saying that--
DAVID, YOU AND IAN WERE CO-HOSTS ONCE?!?!?
What and where and when?!!

I enjoyed this one.  And hey, I'm thinking if Chris can have the adoration of VinceB, then I'm stepping up unashamedly as David A Price's #1 supporter.  He's my brother from another mother.  When he does a walk down memory lane, it's like he's using my memories.  Kinship, I tell you!!

Therefore, I heartily support the Stroman love because I was all up, in, out, around, and through X-Factor with the original Stromanism.

Oh, and by the way, as I'm still listening, do not even get me STARTED on Johnny and Alicia's relationship!!  Johnny is not just a dog--he's a dog with the red lipstick showing.  THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT!!  (dry heaving as I do so  Lips Sealed ).

Although I do disagree with my David about the Hitch and Millar FF, but we'll handle that like brothers do. Tongue

Great show guys, but I need to listen to it again, I think I missed something after having one too many Old Fashons.

I think I can instanly tell who drew what on any EC comic.  The artists had such disticive styles for the golden age.  My favorite EC artist is Wally Wood, and Al Feldstein is a close second.

Chris, AC is way bigger (better) than IFanboy, (especially since Scottie left - j/k)  They Don't even have Tom Katers every week.

I like the later seasons of X-Files.  They aren't as good as the early seasons, but they are way better than most shows on TV. A bad episode of X-Files is better than a great episode of Law and Order, CSI or (insert terrible reality show Name), or JAG.

I was visiting a few college friends in New York City (coinciding with a work trip). We were at a club near Times Square.

While generally of the opinion that bourbon is best straight, I ordered a Manhattan--and was swiftly told by my ex-classmate that "Nobody Drinks Those Here."

Is ordering a Manhattan in Manhattan sort of like wearing the T-Shirt of the band to their concert?

Another great show; thanks guys.

OK, so I'm listening to the episode while putting in a new patio (I'm putting my $1500 check from the gub ment back into my home).  here are a few thoughts:

•  David, please show respect to your drink and call it by it's proper name... a Greyhound.  Wink

•  Wood, your Dom Deluise  remark cracked me up.  Cannonball Run was one of the first movies I had ever seen without a parent around.  It will always hold a special place in my heart!

•  Vince, please don't take the absinthe drink= Grant Morrison comment the wrong way (I'm the one who posted it).  I say it out of respect to the man.  I dig his shit immensely.

•  Vince, with story you told about the bartender and her preparing of an old fashion... the first thing I thought of was thank God you didn't order a mojito.  Her head would have imploded.  Old Fashioneds are a tried and true stalwart in the steakhouse game.  I serve a couple every shift, I actually think they are slowly making a comeback.

•  Chris, just keep doing what you do buddy and next time they razz you about your drink... give'em a quack!

Keep up the good work guys.  Ok time to fill up the water container, grab the level and get my ass back outside.  Smiley

Another great episode, guys.

I enjoyed the EC conversation. DCBS was kind enough to send me a EC Comic Sampler from FCBD in a shipment and I enjoyed the hell out of it. I had no idea that comics from the 50's could be so good! My favorite story from the sampler was Dying City which featured art from Alex Toth & Harvey Kurtzman. Man, was it good. I guess it could even fall under the War comics conversation because the story is about a Korean family torn apart by war.

I would like to get an EC Archive sometime in the future.

Thank you for the episode, guys, and I did not mean to offend anyone by the podcast comparison bit in my voicemail. Please do not take offense. I guess by the size of CGS's forum compared to the others was the BIG influence in my reason. I do not mean to rake anyone in a certain list. That was just my mind at work.

Don't be silly. No need to explain. I was just talkin' trash, or at least making an attempt.  Embarrassed
