Esao Andrews

He's also doing the cover for DC's HOUSE OF MYSTERY # 5 (referred to in his blog).
He's got some chilling images in his gallery.

Dali, Magritte, Rembrandt...any body else in there?

Here's a well known artist, but every time I see his drawings, it BLOWS MY MIND:

Kent Bellows

Laurie in Leavenworth Street Studio
1991, graphite on paper, 22½ x 33½.

Self-Portrait
1991, graphite on paper, 15x22".

Every so often I go back to watch this video...it's still astounding - both in the amount of info the brain can process even if we're unaware of it, and also that the only thing preventing us from accessing and expressing all of it is the brain itself.

We talked about this last semester in one of my classes...its amazing how he doesn't feel comfortable unless he's drawing. And his sister tries to give him challenges to keep him comfortable. His rendering of the inside of the Capitol is phenomenal...Autism can hold some amazing keys to insight for the human brain if we could crack its why's and wherefore's...

Thinking

You really enjoy this style, don't you? The variegated watercolor-esque background with a surrealist/amorphic/anthropomorphic mash-up image set against it? Don't get me wrong, they're gorgeous...just noticed a striking amount of similarity in style between some of your posts...
