Easily one of the best things that I've seen yet on Netflix Instant Play- I'd also recommend
The Day of The Triffids series as well...
One thing that I'd highly recommend is
Not Quite Hollywood which is a great documentary on Australian exploitation films, this really covers the gamut, and since Netflix put this one out there they've also added a few of the featured films to Instant Play, including
Patrick and
Mad Dog Morgan. In addition, Netflix is showing this one in HD, and it does look terrific...
I just watched Peter Berg's first movie,
Very Bad Things over the weekend, and really enjoyed that as well- the premise is this: five friends go away on a Las Vegas bachelor party trip and it goes horribly awry, with the consequences out of it building and building all the way through. There was a point where I thought it was all going in such an over-the-top direction that I thought it couldn't possibly resolve itself in what I thought would've been a satisfying way, but by it's end, it does satisfy, and every character does get what's coming to them... Nice ensemble cast with Christian Slater, Jon Favreau, Cameron Diaz, Leland Orser, Daniel Stern, Jeremy Piven and Jeanne Tripplehorn... And it's also shown in HD...
Of course, I've got all 13 of their MST3K offerings in my queue and even though I've watched more than half of them, they'll stay in the queue until they expire on the service, hopefully Netflix will add even more down the road...
Another one I just watched was
Sam Kinison: Why Did We Laugh a cool little documentary on the life and times of the great comedian peppered with plenty of his routines- guaranteed belly laughs on this one, especially if you're a Kinison fan...
Awhile back, I watched a couple of favorite 80s genre films, primarily because I didn't have either one on DVD and in addition, Netflix was showing them in HD, always a plus especially seeing that it'll be awhile before I get any sort of Blu-Ray player- those movies were
Dreamscape with Dennis Quaid, and the Michael Crichton movie,
Runaway with Tom Selleck... lots of fun there, and again they're just staying in my queue until Netflix sends them away...
Kudos and Karma to Bean for the start of the thread (almost did this myself last week, but figured it would've been pretty much ignored)- I've got about 220 items in my queue right now and will certainly add some more along the way... (to the mods- any chance this could get stickied?)
