Watched Confessions of a Superhero last night…boy, that was depressing, didn't help that the girlfriend kept asking me every five minutes if I was gonna turn into one of those guys.
Haha! This is exactly why I try never to wear any superhero costumes for Halloween. I just dont...

I fire up an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as I drift off to sleep each night. I love that show.
Over the weekend we watched Rango. That is one somewhat warped, and a beautifully done, ugly animated feature.

A co-worker recommended BREAKOUT KINGS (drama). A special group of Convicts assist the US Marshall Service in capturing recent prison escappes in return for reduced jail time and special perks. It may not be Shakespeare but is good fun.
I am almost done season 1. Look forward to watching second season. Good stuff

if you like martial arts movies like i do, be sure to watch "clash" a vietnamese crime/ass-kicking movie. its pretty damn good. i liked it when i saw it late last year, and i STILL like it now when some friends were watching it recently.
holds up pretty well, this side of ong bak and the raid.

The People Vs. George Lucas Pretty infuriating.
The one thing they DIDN'T talk about is probably the one thing that infuriates me the most (small potatoes I'm sure…but man, I hate it) is the fact that they replace Jason Wingreen's voice as the voice of Boba Fett. It was such a nod to the man With no name trilogy. I've never gotten over it, and I don't think I ever will.

for the love of the old gods and new, watch war of arrows. this is a fantastic korean action period piece. its set in ancient korea. mongols routinely raid across the border into korean territory, pillaging villages and stealing citizens for slave labor and worse. a young woman get captured and its up to her brother and her new husband to save her.
there's a pretty strong "last of the mohicans" feel to the movie, half of it about the chase and rescue of the woman. like the title hints, its bow versus bow, and its FANTASTIC. EXITING. bow duels are shot like hong kong movie gun battles and are simply dynamic and riveting. if they made a hawkeye movie this way, it'd make bajillion bucks.
i can't recommend this movie enough.

Awesome to hear, I just added it to the queue the other day. Lately I've watched a few of the IMAX specials like Volcanoes, Volcanoes of the Deep Sea, and Journey Into Amazing Caves. Also watched a few random episodes of Sliders that I remembered from when it originally aired. Thinking about rewatching all of Breaking Bad.

Thor (remembering why I fell asleep in the theater).
I really like Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and liked the movie ok when I saw it in theaters, but this really is a paper thin story. I get why so many say it just feels like a prequel to Avengers. I've been rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender. Just as good as I remember it being. In mid season 3 when shit starts to get real!

Battle Royale
I was a bit late to all the controversy concerning The Hunger Games biting off this storyline…but if I had to make a gut instinct call as to if it did or not, I would probably have to say yes, yes it did.

After your guys' discussion on DS9 a couple of weeks ago, I've started watching the series. I never watched it first run, as it didn't grab me when it first aired. I think watching it in big chunks has made getting through the slower episodes quite a bit more bearable. The first season had a lot of weak points, and those carried forward into the second season. Towards the end of the second season, it has really started to gel, and the third season so far has been a blast. I'm on the fifth episode of the third season, so I think I'm like 50 episodes in already!

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Dude, I am turning into a total Brony . Show is way more fun for me than it should be. Recently re-watched Killer Inside Me (I really like this movie although it is really violent), Chinatown and Sleeping Beauty (2011 w/ Emily Browning - kind of interesting but not very good). Next up is a couple Werner Herzog docs: Cave of Forgotten Dreams & Into the Abyss.

You know, I would probably like My Little Pony, because it has the same people behind it that did Foster's Home right? At least some of the creators? And I LOVE me some Foster's. Sadly, the culture that has sprung up around that show has totally put me off from giving it a shot. That may be silly, but them's the breaks sometimes.

The Inbetweeners - reminds me of a British Judd Apatow show about 4 high school friends trying to fit in and get laid. It's funny, raunchy, and full of Oh! Shit I can't believe they did/said that moments.

Great show. The complete series boxset comes out this month and the movie is supposed to get a US release later this year.
