I'm worried that if she does, you guys will pile heaps of hate on my X-Men. X-men and Avengers are MY BOOKS. I've read them, through thick and thin. I love them when they suck, I adore them when they're good. So if Hope = Jean, will I bitch? Probably. Will I think it's the weak sauce? Most certainly. But will I read it and love it, warts and all? Helllllllllzzzzzzzzzzz yeah.

Me too. I still have faith in the Fraction and have always had a thing for Carey. Loving the way they writes them I am, they could make anything smell good.

Amen & karma to you! You don't think, however, that this promo image: might be a fakeout? "One Will Die... but one will come back? Maybe someone's coming out of the grave instead of going in?

okay? I'm TRYING to TELL them...! They could have made this baby look like any other baby in the universe. It could have been a boy. It could have been black. It could have had a thick gray chitinous shell and concentric rings of bone orbiting its' head. But the chouice was made by editorial staff, who instructed colorists to make this child resemble Jean Grey. The mutant who dies and comes back to life (as teased in continuity by Emma Frost). So why would Hope NOT be Jean Grey? Why would that be a letdown? I don't care what all the other heroes are doing--if anybody resurrects in all comicdom, Jean Grey needs to be the one. All this other temporary death is biting the Phoenix' style. HARD. Okay, look, here's a compromise I could maybe live with. Hope is NOT Jean Grey. Why? Because Hope was not born to John & Elaine Grey in Whereversburg, NY, and she was not named "Jean" by Cable. Her childhood was lived in the future, on a bug colony, on the run, in space, and however--not in a suburb sheltered and guarded by normal life until she felt her best friend Annie die in her mind. So no, she is NOT Jean Grey. But can she be an iteration of Jean Grey, as all reincarnations must surely be? Genetically, she's Jean Grey. The Phoenix power did what the Phoenix power does. Ressurected her. But this person's spirit is not Jean Grey. She's Hope. Hope Summers, I guess, by way of adoption. And maybe Logan will go for her because she's Jean, yet not Jean. And maybe Hope will want to know more about Jean and do a Rachel--find a way to tap into Jean's memories through a crystal or somesuch device--and that will bring enough of the original character back the way she should be back. Jean, yet not-Jean. Would that work? Because if not, and you guys DO want Jean back someday--then what are you asking for--THREE Phoenix-linked, powerfully psionic redhead females with green eyes in the Marvel Universe? Wait--add Madelyne Prior--FOUR of them?! What, are the writers trying to have a matching set of Grey Cuckoos to go with the Stepfords??

Ok this might happen I give you that, but have you ever considered that the X-editors picked Red hair and green eyes as a red harring for us to focus on so we miss the real story. Maybe Maybe not.

Beast needs to lose some weight! Interesting that Scott is off to the side and Magneto is in the middle.

The first chapter came out this week and it was totally AWESOME!!! Not a lot of surprises in the first issue but a lot of fun to read and the David Finch art was amazing. What a great swan song for Finch's Marvel work (for now). His work on this book was much better than his work on Ultimatum, which is probably do to a better story I am looking forward to the rest of the story and the new direction it will set for the X-Men.

Enjoyed the first chapter but the ending seemed like nonsense or at least not surprising. Maybe I'm slow or it's the serial format trying to always end on a cliffhanger.

I thought the first chapter was pretty damn good. i always enjoy when the Xmen are on the outs and don't quite know whats going on. There is good momentum in this book and i hope they can keep it up (fingers crossed). the art was fantastic. the quality really stood out to me
