I have no reading history with the guy dressed as Stormshadow (yes, I know his name, but literally nothing else).

Will wait and see how it well it is reviewed.

You WOUND me sir! Fantomex (my avatar prior to 'disiac over there <<<----- ) was created by Grant Morrison and -- ahem -- Igor Kordey in the epic New X-men run. He's really Weapon XIII (yes, three versions upgraded from Wolverine) and was dubbed Charlie Cluster-7 by his creators. Long story short, the dude kicks all kinds of major ASS, and has his primary nervous system outside of his body (in this flying saucer like entity called E.V.A.). I love the dude, but he was a very obscure character until recently.

Oh come now, you are more badass than that. And i suspect you have a healing factor....

Actually, I have just not read any issues that feature him. I have a few of the Morrision X-Men TPB run on my shelf, but am missing a few and want to read them in order. And so far have not read any issues where he is really featured.

I did just check out his listing in Wikipedia. Though a bit confusing, his history is probably no more/ less so than any other Marvel mutant.

I will read the Morrison run first and then circle back to hear how the new series is regarded.

cheers.

p.s. After reading his bio, sounds like Fantomex could take Stormshadow.......

He is a super duper badass, that's all you need to know.   Cheesy

If you read Morrison's New X-Men you see his badassery first hand.  I think he also popped up recently in the Dark Reign List book that Jason Aaron penned.

See?  Greg Land got that bit right.

who did the art on the Legion sections of New Mutants this week?  I really dug it for that part of the story.

I believe some of the pages were done by Nathan Fox.

I know a lot of people didn't sig Morrison's run on the X-Men. I did though. Fantomex is probably my favorite aspect of his run aside from the Emma Frost, Cyclops affair.

How long until we gat a Fanomex solo series? Serioulsy.

YES!

I'll shed a single tear for having Domino and X-23 off the team but Remender? Opeņa? Fantomex? ... Where do I sign up?  I'm only one Ultimate Collection into the Morrisson run but I've so I haven't read Fantomex outside of Uncanny but I've really like his limited use there.  My favorite thing about him is that he has a fake french accent.  I laugh every time I think about this complete badass talking like the French guys in Monty Python & the Holy Grail and ending every senence with "hawh hawh hawh".

That reminds me, I've got to dig out those Cable trades sometimes and read those.  Gorgeous looking books.

The last ten or so issues of Cable and the bulk of Soldier X are some of the prettiest comics of that time period. I'm not trying to drag my sack across Woooode's chin, but I think Kordey is one HELL of an artist. I'd love it if they dragged him back to do an X-book.

Hey, fair is fair...you know I gotz MAD love for the Cable series (until the most recent one  Shifty Eyes ). But you have to be honest that Kordey's work on New X-men was off a bit. Not sure if it's because he was rushed, or his heart wasn't in it b/c of the negative feedback loop, or what have you, but his issues stick out like a sore thumb as you re-read that run.

I thought it was just me.  I read Morrison's entire New X-Men run about 6 months ago or so and I felt the same about about his art.  I had heard great things about it but it seemed very inconsitent to me, certain panels looked good but others seemed off.  Guess that is a good way of putting it.

Give him a decent inker and I think he could do some cool stuff.
