Jersey is kinda the laughing stock of the United States.I don't know why, but it always has. Those Jersey shore kids running around all over tv isn't helping Jersey out too much right know either.

Whats the deal with the oompah loompa tans that they have? Do they actually think that having orange skin looks good?

Are you saying PA and WV are worse than NJ? Really? I've spent time in all three states in question, worked in two, and um... no. Jersey's not the worst state in the union by any stretch, but it's no where near the top either.
I went to college in PA, and really don't think any of these three states should rank highly in anyone's destinations if they have a choice. That said, objectively if we're really going to have a pissing contest, NJ is demonstrably better off than PA or WV. Per Capita Income: http://www.census.gov/statab/ranks/rank29.htmlPercentage of High School Graduates: http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/GCTTable?_bm=y&-geo_id=01000US&-ds_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_&-_lang=en&-redoLog=false&-format=US-9T&-mt_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_GCT1501_US9T&-CONTEXT=gctPercentage of College Graduates: http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/GCTTable?_bm=y&-geo_id=01000US&-_box_head_nbr=GCT1502&-ds_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_&-_lang=en&-mt_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_GCT1502_US9T&-format=US-9TLowest Percentage of People Below Poverty Line: http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/GCTTable?_bm=y&-geo_id=01000US&-ds_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_&-_lang=en&-redoLog=false&-mt_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_GCT1701_US9T&-format=US-9T&-CONTEXT=gctHome Values: http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/GCTTable?_bm=y&-geo_id=01000US&-ds_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_&-_lang=en&-redoLog=false&-mt_name=ACS_2008_3YR_G00_GCT2510_US9T&-format=US-9T&-CONTEXT=gctI mean, NJ isn't the tops by any stretch, and we have our meatheads and dumbasses like anyone (witness MTV's Jersey Shore), but by virtue of where we're located, and the wealth and established history of the area, we're among the wealthiest and best educated and safest states in the Continental 48. Of course, our asinine sense of government entitlement also leads us to have ridiculously high taxes (7% sales, some of the highest insurance rates in the country, some of the highest property taxes in the country) and we're extremely crowded with long commutes. My first choice? HELL NO (but I have to be here b/c I work in NYC and living where I live is MUCH MUCH MUCH preferable to the alternative of living in Manhattan), but more attractive than West Virginia or Pennsylvania, on average? Easily.

And don't forget they're having their own Big Apple con the same weekend as NYCC. Shamus is either smarter than the rest of us, or a blooming onion of an idiot.

I live in Morris County, grew up in Mercer County. Representing! When my aunt comes back from Aspen to visit, she requires the following things: *** A few slices of pork roll with her breakfast *** Real pizza *** Some Tastykakes

Gotta love the statewide stereotypes. We're all vegetarian hippie lumberjacks in Oregon, of course. When I was doing NANOWRIMO (writing event, internationally represented), someone who was writing a book set in Oregon but who had apparently never been here, asked on the forum "how people in Oregon dress".
