Longer everyday. And thank you, I'm painting a lot differently now thanks to advise I've been given and plenty of practice. I really like doing portraits.

Another possible title, "Here's your violence." It's interesting that the guy has a hand in his pocket and his posture is so casual.

Ya I tried to show violence is a causal non-violent way. My mom really like the painting until she got a close look at it and saw what was going on. So that was fun.

Neat stuff, I like the texture. Are you using a palette knife?

Wondering if anyone could share some info with me. I've been painting with the primary colors but it's been brought to my attention (and I've encountered it in my work) that I need two shades of each primary color each tinted a little more to one side of the spectrum or the other to really make all the colors I want. For instance when I mix my ultramarine blue with cadmium yellow I always get a forest or hunters green. It's almost impossible to get a bright neon or plant like green.
Anyone else encountered this?
Right now I have > thinking of getting
Ultramarine blue > Cobalt blue Cadmium yellow > ??? Napthol crimson > Yellow Azo
any suggestions? Thanks.

Buy the green you would like to have...
Honestly it's going to be kinda tough to get a consistent green. I'm assuming you're using acrylics. You can try and lighten the Ultramarine blue with white then Cad. yellow, but it's going to be tough to get the results you're looking for. I looked up to see that would be the most versatile blue, and Pthalo blue tends to pop up.
A good thing to do that is on the cheap is to honestly buy a cheap Intro. to Color Theory book and read it through. It can be old as dirt. The rules of colors haven't really changed over the years.
