Thanks, I had a blast doing it.  It's mostly sponge work and my brush pen which are quickly becoming my two favorite painting tools.

Ya it's acting funny, the link should work if the image doesn't.

And thanks evaD, I had so much fun painting this last piece.  I used watercolors, pastels, acrylics India ink and a lot of water.  I would be painting with a sponge and then just wring it out over top of the painting then drip the standing water around on the canvas.  It was kind of like playing monkey ball.   Roll On Floor Laughing

I did this painting with Frazetta in mind.

And this is a interpretation of The Guitarist by Picasso.

Thanks for taking a look and for the kind words.  I spent all day yesterday painting as well.  Hopefully it will help me color the upcoming issues of 3rd World and Hellidays.

I think it's your best painting yet.

Cool paintings.I think your backgrounds would benefit from more layering. The use of white in the background against the dark colors of the figure work well in that last one.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask the painters out there what your painting on.  I want to do some large format painting and I can't decide what to buy.  Pre schetched canvas are expensive and making your own seems like a big to do.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Have you looked into getting some Canvas boards by any chance? They're a lot cheaper than pre-streched Canvases. And there's various sizes too which should answer to your question about working on a large format.

Here's an image to give an idea:

Thanks, but that's what I'm currently using.  I like them but wanted to explore some other options.  I'm painting one that's 24 x 36 now but it kind of bows up on the edges like a skateboard or something.  I'm probably over thinking this too but I worry about how well the panels will hold up to time vs the stretched canvases.

Here's one of my newest paintings.  Some of you might remember my first self portrait somewhere at the beginning of this thread, well this is my second self portrait.  Cheesy

Your hair got long. Oh, and you did a good job. I like that you're starting on different colored backgrounds instead of white.
