I'll probably just stick to the Green Lantern hardcover I think, but I never got the issues, so I'm not double dipping. I may get Green Lantern Corps too, but that depends. I find it funny that Green Lantern #49 is going to be reprinted at least twice by the looks of it. It will be in 2 seperate hardcovers.
I don't think it is. GL #49 is pretty stand alone from the rest of the Hal stuff. It's John Stewart on Xanxi, the planet he blew up (completely by accident by the way). Hilarity ensued.

Finally! Didn't they cancel that a couple of years ago?
They did cancel a Suicide Squad something a while back, yeah. Or postpone, apparently. Lots of cool stuff here, but I'm immediately excited by the Superboy hardcover and the new Matt Kindt book from Vertigo. Revolver looks to be cool. Won't miss that. Don't sleep on this one, folks! And if you haven't read 3 Story, listen to Wood if you don't want to listen to me and put it on your library/order list. I am also going with The Brightest Day... Joe's not the only one curious about that decision, Alec. Didn't you avoid Blackest Night?

I haven't looked to see what issues are in what hardcover other than Tales of the Corps. It would break up the flow of the Hal story if it were though.

Since the solicit for the Tales of the Corps hardcover says from the pages of and it lists Jerry Ordway as one of the artists, I'm guessing the backup story from Green Lantern #49 will be in that collection and the main story (with art by Ed Benes and Marcos Marz) will be in the Green Lantern hardcover.

I wonder if I can use my Barnes and Noble membership discount on a hard cover graphic novel (All Star Superman)? Because I want my 20-40% off.

Joe's not the only one curious about that decision, Alec. Didn't you avoid Blackest Night? Not so much avoid, just tried and didn't feel it. Simply, it was the zombie thing - I didn't care about characters coming back from the dead. Those moments, which were a large part of it, were lost on me. But, from the GL issues I read, I did enjoy those. Just because Blackest Night wasn't my thing, should I assume Brightest Day will be ill-favor? I want to give it a shot. BN & BD are connected, but I think they will be different stories. Plus, BD looks like a nice jumping on point for DC happenings. I'm not saying I'm buying all 26, but I'll try a few issues and see what it's about. Same with GL, which I used to buy before BN. New point in the story, so I'll try to come back. But, hey, just cause I'm feeling the super-heroes doesn't mean I'm done with all the other cool alternative stuff I've grown to love recently. My DCBS order is still riddled with that stuff.

Have they said anything about what Brightest Day is actually about yet? I see a lot of people saying their excited about it, but I'm sure what they're responding too, except for more Green Lantern stories. That part of why I was curious about your change of heart. I thought maybe you knew something I didn't (which wouldn't be hard, trust me). But, hey, just cause I'm feeling the super-heroes doesn't mean I'm done with all the other cool alternative stuff I've grown to love recently. My DCBS order is still riddled with that stuff. Oh, I know. I gave you major props for that in the preorder thread.

Looks like I am going to be picking up 3 books by Tony Bedard and Keith Giffen. Such a big month from DC. I mean need to go get a second Job. I don't want to double dip on Blackest Night, and I am gonna have to pass on Absolute All-Star Superman. I hope DC gives away a free Legion Ring with this 1st issue. That would rule.

I thought maybe you knew something I didn't (which wouldn't be hard, trust me). Dude, I know no more than you. You are a gentlemen that holds a lot of knowledge. For me, BD looks to be more of a DCU story. What that is, I don't know. But, I like the idea of what BD will seem to encompass - it's a book that is all about the DCU and its current state of mind. All the big happenings are there. You can read BD, that one book, and get a nice sense of the entire DC story at the moment. I always liked the idea of a book like that, and it seems BD will do that. Again, not saying I'm in full force for all 26 issues, and the DCU kicks ass. I just like to have a nice sense of what is happening in comics, whether it be Green Lantern or Orc Stain. I want to know what it happening. So, I'll give BD a shot for a couple issues, see what it's about, and see if I enjoy it. Oh, I know. I gave you major props for that in the preorder thread.
