I've recently read "Ego And Other Tails" and Chris is right, (spreading the Neeseman love), it is a really great collection.

I heard it was out of print and my shop had one copy left so fortunately I will be able to partake soon as well. Thank you David for gushing over the story since that was my reasoning for hunting it down once I got to the shop to record. Really looking forward to reading it especially since I have Cook's "Parker" adaptation in my queue as well...

David OMG I love Fish Eye. It's one of my favorite California wines, hard to beat their robust Shiraz for the price.

Hey guys

I'm behind on my listening, just finished 94 and after hearing you guys lovin' up Afrodisiac I finally had to register for the forums here to tell you all to read Jim Rugg and Brian Maruca's earlier book Street Angel, published by Slave Labor Graphics.  But now I see Jim Rugg already beat me to that in Episode 98!

Anyway, I hope you're loving it Jason, and I'll just go ahead and say it to everyone else:

Go.  Buy.  Street Angel.  NOW!

It's the FRICKING BOMB!!! - a skateboarding kungfu superheroine, fighting ninjas and mad scientists and the devil himself.  AND the first appearance of Afrodisiac.

And, if i can give a shameless plug, when I was in my final year of film school down here in Australia, I made a live-action adaptation of Issue 1 of Street Angel as my graduation film, working with the awesome co-operation of Brian and Jim, who contributed original art which we turned into an animated sequence for the film.  Most Australian films these days are pretty depressing stories about drug addicts being miserable in the suburbs, so we really wanted to try something fun and ambitious and adventurous to remind local filmmakers that there's other types of stories...

You can see the trailer here:

And you can find out more details at www.streetangelshortfilm.com

Wood, if you're interested, shoot me an email and I'll hook you up with a DVD.

Cheers
Lucas

I know it's an old thread and all so I wouldn't bring it up unless it was important. As much as I love you Vince, and I loooooove you dude, I gotta side with Jason with regards to corned beef. That is my go to food when there's nothing else around. My wife is with you on spam though.
