when i lived in new york for a couple of months i ate here at least 7 or 8 nights. i was living up near the M&M superstore, go to the Marriot buy my theatre tickets, go to bubba gump for dinner then off to the show for the night

Dang dude, how you was livin'?!?!

Wonderful as always but today REALLY REALLY needed. No lie.

Warning, off-topic drama ahead;

Listening to the comfort of your affection for one another helped cushioned the particularly hard blow from someone today who wanted to be a friend until I made her unhappy with some choices I made that didn't go her way.  Man did the claws come out.  Now I'm only hoping that everyone who knows me from the same group has more faith in me than she does, and that the character assassination she hit me with won't take.

Okay, as you were. Just wanted to let that out of my head.

It was some of the best living of my life (US women love the Aussie accent  Thumbs Up )

also sorry to hear about your friend man, my own friendship group is going through a bit of a tough time for different reasons but its never good. if you ever need anything let us know man.

Also i need a favor from you new yorkers, when i was last over there i couldn't find a good Aussie beer anywhere, US beer was to watered down for my taste, so if you can find a bar the serves Aussie Beer, VB, Carlton Draught, Crownies, or such let me know and beers are on me when i return

(P.S Fosters is a Aussie beer but NO ONE in australia drinks it so that dosen't count Cheesy

Thanks!  And this just in--I'm not immune to the Aussie lingua m'damn self!  I bought a downtown club discount card from an Aussie bloke on the corner of Broadway and 57th a few years ago just because he had an Aussie accent.  And actually, I didn't even buy it ON the corner--I had him walk me to the bank machine just because I believed he was as friendly and harmless as he sounded.  And he was, and he made a little sale that night because of it!  (That'd be the first and only time I EVER did that.)

Heyyy...was that you?!   Roll On Floor Laughing

Vince makes me blush every time he says my name.

"Mike SCHHHWAAAARRTTTZ!"  Hearts

This gonna sound completely stupid, but every time I hear that spot for SCCC I have to pause the show for a minute. It gives me butterflies in my tummy. I'm so excited about it.

I'm so glad that you're gonna be there Mike!

Just finished the show with my wife listening and she started laughing at the deodorant comment Chris. The day before we were talking about the ECC and she has no problem going, she loves the culture but made a comment about how everyone always smells. We're both nurses so we smell some pretty nasty things so that's saying something about our comic culture.

Everything you carry is identical to what I carry to any con, SANITIZER is a must, no matter what Vince says!!! Also I tell new people (maybe its my anal retentive tendency) to have their signing materiel ready and organized in my bag. I personally have the issues with little sticky notes telling me who's book it is and my bag is alphabetized with tabs so I can see where I'm looking. Also, along with Wood I have a personal limit of 2 comics per person that I'm getting a sig from.

To Vince's comment about bringing your lady. Yea, as I posted on another thread. My wife and I went and her accepting my hobby made us life mates forever.

Looking forward to ECC

Black Dynamite has finally made it to the top of my Neflix queue and I can't freakin' wait.   Boogie

My favorite movie podcast just released a drunken commentary track for it which will make for a nice way to watch it a second time.

Finally someone saw Black Dynamite!  That was by far my favorite movie of last year... to the point that my phone's ringtones have been alternating from the theme song to the man himself yelling, "Kung Fu treachery!" or "I threw that shit before I came in the room!".

Wood, I hope you bought the blu-ray version, since it has extra stuff that the DVD didn't.

Just finished the show with my wife listening and she started laughing at the deodorant comment Chris.

My wife was listening to that section with me in the car.  When Chris mentioned his con-bag, she said "Wow, he just out-nerded everyone in the room." The irony is I used the same phrase on her last week when she visited the LCS with me, and the first thing she picked up was Dr. Who comics.

Seriously though, it was a great segment.  We're headed to our first con this month, so the tips were very much appreciated.  Thumbs Up

Bubba Gump in Time Square is not too bad, a lil pricey cause of the location.  Its fine to go to at least once.
