Hopefully, you're not holding anything else at the moment, 'cause I don't own one, either.  Roll On Floor Laughing

Crap... there it goes again.

That doesn't surprise me as much as

Shocking as this may be, I don't have a Blu-ray player.

this does.

That doesn't surprise me as much as

Wanna know why I haven't sprung for a Blu-Ray player, Unca David?

Because the kinds of film I love don't typically make it to the format. For every Planet Terror that makes the jump, there's a few thousand akin to those in the Something Weird catalog that don't. I like trash. Exploitation. Arthouse. Fringe stuff. Unfortunately, these films are almost nonexistent on B-R. I'll probably continue to hold out on the Ray until the standard DVD format goes the way of the vinyl record.

Or until Avatar is released. Whichever comes first. Evil

At least until Avatar is released.  Evil

In all fairness my blu-ray player is a PS3.

You don't have to justify it to me, boo.

I know what you mean.  And we didn't get one until this past holiday season as a gift to ourselves.  Am I running out to buy yet another copy of Leon: The Professional or Fifth Element or Blade Runner or Die Hard?  Not yet.

Because I can still watch my standard DVD copies of those movies on my Blu-ray player.  Just like you can watch any of the trash you currently have in your possession.  Exploitation.  Arthouse.  Fringe stuff.  All o'dem will play on it.

The first time I see it will be on Blu-ray from Netflix.  I'm looking forward to it.

In all fairness my blu-ray player is a PS3.

I was thinking about buying one, but doing so would solve one problem while opening doors to many, many others. I have more than enough distractions in my life, do I really need the temptation of the new Final Fantasy or God of War 3?

Now that I think about it, I do believe I'll be buying the Blu-ray Blade Runner five movie set.  The no-frills version since I already have the standard DVD briefcase collection.

All o'dem will play on it.

I have a lot invested in Japanese and Euro discs. Does anyone make a region-free DVD/BR player?

Yeah it's tough to not just play video games all the time for sure. Hmmm... make comics, or play some more Smackdown vs. Raw 2010... can you smell what I'm cooking?

I'm trying to convince Renee that if we get a PS3 we can put the Blu-ray in the bedroom.  So far that hasn't been working out for me.

Yes.

My second favorite movie podcast just released a drunken commentary track for it which will make for a nice way to watch it a second time.
