Just an FYI to those of us near Toronto. The first Wizard World Con here in Toronto is this weekend (Mar 26-28).

I have never been to any Wizard shows. Although I am not super interesed in the Wizard part of it, BUT Toronto fans and retailers are usually worth checking out. So I intend to drop by on Saturday. Hopefully will do some good bin diving and people watching.

Meh.

Two things, here:
1) I loved the Paradise show that Wizard bought and bastardized into this thing they call a con.  It was an awesome creator centric show with plenty of good vendors.  As much as I liked wrasslin' back in the day, seein' most of those guys nowadays makes me a little sad.  And really, an ass-load of reality show shmucks count as 'celebrity' guests?  No thanks.

2) And more importantly, it's the same weekend as CGS Supershow, man!  No contest, as far as I'm concerned.

YMMV, and I suppose that if you haven't the means or inclination to go to Supershow, any comic show we can get is better than none.  I'll definitely be at TCAF in May, though.

I thought about but it just doesn't work for me. I went when it was the Paradise show and it was one of my two Toronto cons that I would attend. The focus on wrestlers and celebrities is a turn off. If I can manage it I'd rather go to the Toronto Comic Arts festival this year. The Wizard show seems expensive for what would get out of it. I was wondering about getting a table there to sell my comics for crazy prices earlier this year and the tables were more expensive than even Fan Expo in August which seemed pretty crazy since I don't think they will get nearly as many people. It's a shame since I was all primed to get a cheap table the year Paradise didn't have a con and now it makes getting rid of my stuff more difficult.
