For a long time, I disregarded Aquaman, not because I thought he was stupid, but because he didn't appeal to me. It wasn't until I found out that he was dead that I realized how cool a concept he was, and got pretty pissed off at myself for not checking him out before he was gone. But as of Blackest Night #8... he's back! Who's looking forward to seeing him in Brightest Day, and maybe his own series? Who's not?

To my utter shock, I am !   One Wave

He is super strong, has the power of the resources of all the oceans, has a great costume. All he needs is a strong consistent writer and a decent artist.

I would love to see him be a full time contributing member of the JLA.

(and this coming from an admitted Marvel guy)

Welcome back Arthur!

I am excited as well...but perhaps a thread title change would be appropriate for those who didn't read Blackest Night #8 yet or try to avoid soilicts so that they're not spoiled.

But more on topic, yeah I am definitely interested to see what happens with him next. I hope it gets off to a fast start, I would hate to see the book linger and then tank again, I've always thought it was a really cool concept.

For some fun stories you should check out some of those Aquaman Showcases...if not for the Ramona Fredon and Nick Cardy artwork alone. Great, great stuff

I was thinking the same thing. The spoiler tag really doesn't work when the title is the spoiler.  Wink

You might actually want to edit the title of your previous post. I think you can modify the post and it gives you the chance to change the title.

As with all returns in comics this really depends on how you handle the character.  I look back at how Green Arrow came back and love how he was handled by Kevin Smith.  But, after a short Brad Meltzer run we got Judd Winick who appeared to forget that Green Arrow was gone all those years.  So I guess as long as they treat him like an actual person coming back from the dead and not Aquaman just romping in the sea I am all for it.

Aquaman is a character I really want to like. I love the classic design of him (thought he looked badass with the water hand), and I loved the characterization in Morrison's JLA run. I hope they can find something that sticks this go round.

I've heard good things about the Peter David run, but when I checked it out the art put me off.

Couldn't be MORE excited about his return. I am a huge Aquaman fan. Loved Peter David's run, and looking forward to something similar, but this time Aquaman will have both his hands, his classic costume, and short hair. All of those are very good things!  Rock Horns

Yeah, I realized that right after I posted it. Fixed

Truly sorry if anyone saw the title previously and had it spoiled for them.

If he gets his own series I'm all set for a commitment. Unless it sucks. But then, Johns has made it clear he has a strong interest in the character, so we can hope.

And I didn't realize big blue tights and red boots were either, but Superman is all the rage.
