He turned 70 this year and got no fanfare.
I'm shocked. No, wait... That's not shock.

DC really drops the ball again and again on the Captain Marvel potential.
I was also stoked to see Captain Atom in the cartoon as well. I don't really ever see him in anything that isn't JLI related, but I always love him there.

Really enjoyed it. I was very whelmed. What is it with you and the whelmed thing?
I really loved that sequence of dialogue. I love this animation. Nothing seemed bloated, or too blocky. In this I'd say it was better than the Avengers. As far as the writing goes, I'd say it was equal. Fast paced with unexplained plot elements that will take their time coming out. Awesome. I dunno if we decided--this Robin is Tim Drake, yeh? That would better explain his ability with computers. So then, is this Kid Flash Wally West, and that Speedy was Roy Harper? Because if so, their parallel Earth isn't just parallel--it's time-retardant too. And given that, why is Aqualad taller and apparently older than Tim & Wally? Why was Roy older than Wally as well?? And even as I ask, I have to say--I LOVE that they aren't all the same size and ages. Aqualad was tall as hell compared to Robin!! Even Kid Flash is taller than Robin!! And did we notice how Robin laughs a lot as he's going into action? I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't wind up being Damian Wayne! Yeah, I lurved it! Roll on January!!

Robin is Dick Grayson, he is the youngest yet the most experienced being that he is the first sidekick (as usual). He is 13 years of age. I see him as having a personality of the way talk about a young Dick -pause- in classic DC comics. Kid Flash is Wally West, he is 15. he seems to know Robin the best by te way they characterize their dialogue. Aqualad is the oldest (I think) and the leader. That's interesting because the voice actor also did Cyborg's voice in Teen Titans and in that Cyborg was the oldest also. Also the Aqualad in this show share some similarities to the Brightest Day Aqualad but being that he was made up first a lot of things will be different. Like him having an Atlantian name. That was Roy as Speedy and it seemed that he was the oldest before he quit being a sidekick. I have a feeling he's going to start the Outsiders in this continuity. Also remember that all the Earths don't share the same time speed. Earth 22 is Kingdom Come earth and those characters are older than the New Earth's. I'm a cartoon nerd.

the writing is on the wall that robin and aqualad will fight and robin will become the leader. i got to wonder when secret identities are going to start coming up.

Where did you get all this info? I don't remember them talking about any of this. For instance I assumed that Robin was Tim or Damian, because Roy was older and he and Dick were about the same age. And how do you know that KF is Wally? Couldn't he be Bart and Flash be Wally?

I do know that the Young Justice comicbook that Mike Norton is drawing is the same team with the same characters, so maybe Julian tapped into that script somehow? Or maybe the comic (and thus animated series) bible is online somewhere? Like Wiki? In fact wait ... here ya go. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Justice_(TV_series) Quite a few spoilery foreknowledges at that page, so clicker beware.

The secret ids of the character they announced some time ago, the ages I had to research. Early on they had drawings of Roy as Red Arrow.

I respond with: Why not Zatara?
time and again we've seen Warners animation use character that somehow the creators on the books don't know what to do with or how to make work work. Zatara gets no love, let him get some shine.
COT DAMN CAPTAIN MARVEL IS IN THE SHOW!!
To add more of a female presence to the show? Haven't seen the show so I can't judge, but I'm listening to the 3 Chicks Review Comics podcast and they are saying that the number of girl characters in the show is scant. That doesn't bode well for a cartoon that claims that it wants to target both boys AND girls. What do you all think?

This was awesome I got chills at the end. Why is no one commenting on Miss Martians inclusion ? I mean sure Cassie would have been the obvious choice, but they got a mind reading shapeshifter with about the same power levels as Superman in there... AND I hope they'll use the white martian plot point at some point There's just something about the green ones

Finally got to see. I liked it a lot and look forward to more episodes. I am glad it wont go silly like Teen Titans Go. My half sister was liking that show but I thought it was annoying and didn't try to give much connections to the comic. I like the take on Superboy in this one.

This was pretty dope. The team isn't super obvious, but I think it works. I didn't realize Greg Weisman is behind this show. That is fantastic, as dude has a great track record.
Man, my heart will forever belong to Bruce Timm and that DCAU, but I'm really enjoying these new takes on characters we love. Bruce Greenwood is a really good Batman.
