When the first details about this came out the stuff I saw was that Dick is Nightwing and is like the mentor to the team.

Even more interested now.

looks good. Artemis is an interesting choice. any ideas why they couldn't use cassie?

From what I understand, the Marston family has a contract still going with DC when it comes to using Wonder Woman in mass media. While it's probably a lot more complicated than this, it basically boils down to this: if the character was created by him (and Wonder Girl technically was, since Marston first made her as a younger Diana), and she isn't the star, she can't be used. They were just barely able to get Wonder Woman in the Justice League cartoon because she was a co-star in an ensemble piece. I guess they felt like they didn't want to take the risk this time around.

With all the good animated superhero series on TV right now, I have no particular reason to be skeptical of this one. Hope it is not deadly serious... I watched a few Teen Titans episodes and while I never really got into it I did appreciate the crazed pace it moved along at.

Yep, can't wait. Find it a little odd that Miss Martian and Artemis are not to be seen for this, but I'm still into it.

I was withholding judgement until I saw the animation and I must admit the animation is very attractive, I love the way the show looks. That said the writing felt a little... meh... but not only is it a pilot but also it is 6 minutes out of  context from a pilot. Still either way wont miss it.

The show looks bad ass, and it's kinda cool to see them move forward in the same vain as the original Young Justice comic. What do i mean you may ask? Well think back to the initial issues of Young Justice; it wasn't a coed environment. When the members of Young Justice first gathered it was a straight up boys club. The girls came into the picture after an issue where they totally WOOPED some boy booty. When you think about it; the story in that issue was a great way to introduce strong teenage female characters to a young audience.  Thumbs Up

I don't think so. This Aqualad is a bit further along in his career than the one on mainline earth of DC.

the thing is i heard that the writers of the show made this aqualad before the one in brightest day and john liked him so much he adapted his story to the comics.

in the comics he has only shown up in BD but he had the whole average teenage life till... kind of thing going on.

I think he's manifested them recently.  I could be wrong since I've only read previews.

This animated Aqualad was first, being that a show must be developed for a couple of years before we see even one episode.  I think they chose to fold it in on the mainline DC earth. Please note that this Cartoon takes place in the multiverse that we have now. So it is two concurrent Black Aqualads in the DC multiverse, with this one more experienced than the one we are seeing in Brightest Day. He also has a better hairstyle.
