Something I've been thinking about lately is my contribution (or lack thereof) to Marvel Noise. I would like to have more time to read things for the show, but lately I haven't been that lucky. So my question to those that listen to the podcast, how upset would you be if the show had a looser schedule, maybe twice a month?
I know many people enjoy Steve's and Pat's and Rick's segments (to name a few) and as long as they keep doing 'em I'll keep including 'em. So if that's what is important to you, believe me I won't take offense. Feel free to answer honestly and tell me what's on your mind.

While I feel the podcast should be weekly, it's up to David because this is his baby. I have been listening since episode 4, so I'm going to download it whenever it comes out, weekly biweekly etc...it's all good. With everybody contributing now, David doesn't have the pressure of coming up with something every week because on average, you are going to have at least two segments sent in. I know the segments are getting longer but there is just so much to talk about! That is a good thing, that means people are passionate about this podcast and their contributions to it. I'm even thinking of contributing my own piece (if I can get sometime to figure it out!) I back David on whatever he decides to do...we will get to hear a Marvel Noise eventually...and that is a good thing!

I listen to MN and really enjoy the schedule as it is now. What I want to know is, are you considering changing the schedule based (A) on your time actually recording and participating, (B) on editing, (C) not enough material on a consistent basis, (D) something else?
Each one would have different answers but ultimately it comes down to what you want to do. If honestly, it's not the show you feel you want to produce, you need to fix it however you need to so it the best product you feel you can put out there on the market.

I voted no simply because my podcast listening time each week is very limited so there are many times I'm not able to get to an episode until several weeks after it comes out. That being said, I absolutely love everybody's contributions and the show is excellent but I would definitely love to hear more David. I'm with Derek and El Dave also in that, I would rather have the show come out bi-monthly and have it a show that you are excited to put together and have topics and comics you are excited to talk about rather then feeling pressured to just get an episode out each week. Do what makes you happy, David, I think we're all going to keep listening!

I like the show weekly but why not have the Steve's and Pat's and Rick's segments on one show and you have an xtra week to read more and do more on the show the following week.

I'm totally cool with the chaotic schedule thing. Just whatever ya got, whenever ya got it, whenever ya feel like posting it. I don't listen to every segment anyways (so sorry guys!). That's one thing I do like though, the loose feel of the show. Certain segments I love, others I skip over. But if Pat or Steve leave, I might cry.

I like pie!
(In other words, I didn't even read this thread past the first post due to my utter desire to avoid voting.)
I do know this though; Happy David = Happy Alan.

Quality over quantity, man. As much as I'd like to hear the Noise on a weekly basis, it wouldn't be worth it if it was phoned in or done without effort/energy.
Whatever's good for you.

David- I voted "YES"....but i understand if it takes more than that as you want to read and comment on MARVEL comics you are into.....thats why i listen in the 1st place. No offense to the other guys who contribute, they do a great job also. It is a quality podcast so if you need more time to put episodes together (longer than a week) so be it. I also wanted to say THANK YOU for putting out a solid podcast! Take care- Damion

This may come out wrong, but....here goes. No disrespect to the contributors of the Noise, but I have never listened to it "weekly". In that, the content for your awesome show has never been time dependent to me. That is, several of my favorite segments are about issues and arcs from my youth. And David has always read/ commented on what his reading usually several weeks after the issues have been released - which is fine and actually pretty normal for most readers. (Sorry Pat I don't usually listen to the new releases - I am always behind. But I enjoy the segmets that you chat with the group). Instead, I usually gear up to listen to an episode when I know I have an uninterupted hour or so to myself (at the gym, cleaning , hiking, etc). And more often than not, i pull out an issue or TPB that was discussed. I have noted that the show often has less David than I would prefer, because I really like to hear his opinions (and he is too quiet IMHO on 11OC). So any change that gives us more unrushed King DAP is ok in my book My dream Marvel Podcast would be the regular segments of Smash Tales and From The Bunker, but that the remainder of the show be a group conversation with David, Pat and whomever is available that week (discussing about current Marvel or past classic arcs or favorite creators or whatever). And the frequency should be whatever makes you awesome contributors happy. I am about 5 episodes behind but enjoying everything I have heard thus far. Thanks for the effort gentlemen. It is appreciated. (Except for Steve - his segments cost my wallet the most money.......)

I voted no, but you do what you need to do for your own sanity, David. I'm behind on my listening. Just not enough time for multiple podcasts lately. But, I think the "lack of David" was a sincere reason why I started putting it on the back burner. I enjoy the other segments to varying degrees, but it's the King D.A.P. that keeps me coming back. The King and his court is a wonderful thing, but without the King, there's no court.

I am totally biased. I can admit this. That said, Marvel Noise is the first podcast I listen to every week, partly because of my liking the content, partly because of my affection for my cohorts: DAP, Steve, Tom, Pat, Alan, et al. I remember when Around Comics went on hiatus a few years back. The guys said they would return, but I had my doubts. It's natural to fear losing the things you love so much. However, after a vacation and some restructuring of its format, the guys were back and we've all been happy ever since. Oh, wait. I forgot for a second that it's now retired. Nevermind. Anyway, if a bi-weekly format will ensure the future of the show by preserving DAP's sanity and quality of life, then so be it. You fans of Smash Tales will just have to call me and I will give you the every-other-week installment over the phone. Add your own sound effects.

Always go for something you are proud to put out even if that means less of it. I have listened to some podcasts that definitely seem like they are just trying to get their quota out and these are the ones that I will unsubscribe from. It may mean less of Marvel Noise for us but we'll be eagerly anticipating the next one.
