I like the new feature from Mighty Mr. Raker, but next week I want you to give us your last 13 reads and call it . . . (wait for it):  The Raker's Dozen.   (oh come on, I don't care who you are, that is funny).

I didn't intend for my 'last 12' bit to be any kind of new, recurring segment or feature, but that, my long-eared friend, is f#@$!n' gold! (metaphorically speaking, that is).  It could have just as easily been my 'last 8' or whatever, and just happened to be 12.....the perfect number to serendipitously spark your swell idea. Marvel Noise needed a dose of more current material being discussed (David's the only one who stays on course presenting current stuff, with the occasional stray path towards books like generation next, of course....and now Pat's got his new segment too, where he discussed current stuff to also help out in that area), and that's a functional little structure for me to mention newer material within, without going too in depth.

....after the next 13 Marvel titles I read, I'll give it another go. Hugs & Karma for the LA Rabbit! Bunny Dance

Just cracked the spine on this latest episode.  Thanks to everyone, especially King DAP for giving us junkies our fix.  A couple of quick comments so far.

Wow, I love that title! Raker's Dozen, an instant classic!

Yeah Steve that was a great new segment.  I skipped Son of Hulk War of Kings and now that I know that the Micronauts reappear, I must have that mini!  We need more Arctus Rann!

Finished the episode.  Great job everyone.   Clap

I enjoyed having the King tell his people what is what on the comic front.  Also glad that Mr. Raker liked my name for his the new segment (hee, hee, hee).  All that was missing is a Carlos Cordova email and maybe a few covers (although the smash tales crew did a little posting).   I can't complain, best value for the money.  Hope everyone has a great week.

Make mine Marvel Noise!

Of course Epic is applicable.  The early Epic and the later Heavy Hitters line.  Along with Star Comics, Icon, Ultraverse (after the merger), crossovers, and the graphic novels.

If it's published by 'em we can talk about it on a podcast about 'em!

I could see maybe doing a bit on the entire epic comics line as a whole, but methinks I should wait a good long time before I go Starlin on you all again...... Evil

Hmm, I would be down with that.  Somewhere deep in storage, literally 1000's of miles away I also have a few issues of Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham, if you want to rehash that series as well.  Back in the day, I bought almost any kind of crap from Marvel, New Universe, you name it.  I was the prototypical Marvel Zombie.  Makes me laugh now.

I have to agree.  And I DO mean actingwise. Really good job!  And I know good voice-acting (see signatures)!

I'm always bracing for the bi-weekly format and then a large episode shows up. And for a second there I was like What has have happened to the real Steve Raker? Is that really Steve Raker???  Talking about current stuff??? Just when there's a near cosmic overdose he dials it back to some current stuff. I've been listening to some of the older shows that I either didn't listen or completely listen to and there's some cool stuff back there too like Deathlok the Demolisher.

Wow, Smash Tales is really becoming a real radio drama. I should go back and listen to the first one someday to just see the difference some more.

The beginning of the Nova series always cracked me up and made me shake my fist at Stark. A Civil War squabble kind of didn’t compare to the whole galaxy getting taken over. What a guy...

I remember the Microverse getting rewritten in an issue of Peter David’s Captain Marvel.  It was like a one page thing and even had an editorial note to a nonexistent crossover. It seemed like a gag but he used it as the status-quo for the story, kind of funny.

Didn’t find any Cosmic Powers issues last weekend but I did hold the Warlock Vol.2 Masterworks in my hands. Sadly I had other plans pop up so it will have to wait.

I keep hearing a lot of good thing about X-Factor Forever. Sounds more like what I was expecting X-Men Forever to be like. I’ve never read that run of X-Factor but I plan too so the mini is on my radar as something to possibly pick up in the future.

I do read current comics, so it seemed like a good time to start getting credit for it Wink

Thanks for your always appreciated comments! Thumbs Up

Easy Reader says, "this book is easy to read!"

I had a subscription to Spidey Super Stories back in the '70's, but lost 'em with all my comics in our house fire in 1980....I think I just have one or two issues down in the bunker from subsequent quarter bin dives.
