Had to stop the podcast & say thanks for all the pluto love guys. I wish everyone would read this. Like i have said before this story was hands down my favorite piece of fiction i have read in the last decade. You guys gotta finish the series so we can get a thread going. Much love!!!!
I just finished the first volume on my last break at work last night, and Pluto is the shit. I'm reading it concurrently with 20th Century Boys, and I couldn't be happier. One thing about that book that really impresses me is the design of the robots. They're silly enough to make them feel at home in a comic, but they also convey a lot of emotion. It's weird, but wonderful.

About the impact 11 O'Clock has on book sales: My three purchases at Summit City were Afrodisiac, 3 Story, and The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.

My wife read Jeffrey Brown's Process on the way to Summit City (I picked it up when he was at Detroit Comics on FCBD). She read it, loved it, and bought two more books from him at the show.
She's not a creator herself, but she loved his humor and style.

Katsuhiro Otomo created Akira, not Tezuka.

At 38:24 when they were talking GIJoe. Vince says "Now I know." Did no one else want to scream out "And knowing is half the battle!"?????????
As for the Solar talk, I agree the art was a little stiff. As for the writing, it could have easily been a Valiant book produced in the day. Very true to that era. Magnus was a little more fresh. I've heard comments about how GIJoe 155.5 was too much the same as it was 16 years ago - Solar felt very much like this. I am definitely leaning more towards Magnus, but wasn't much of a Solar guy back then. Bring back the Aric X-O Manowar (whoever has the property)!!!!!!!!

Vince, the Number 1 and Number 2 thing will be addressed in a 12-14 minute scene included in the upcoming box set.

It's a good thing that Chris remembered us. I hope he would do so after licking Sarah's face on Saturday night.

I think it's time for the kid to learn that the world doesn't revolve around him. Next time, we're staying!
