t's true...my favorite art over the years has been that featuring human musculature and form, both male and female, from pop art to classic illustrators such as DiVinci.  I've taken lots of anatomy courses for my profession as a therapist, and done dissection in gross and neuro anatomy labs, which only made me appreciate the visual representation of musculature and how it's wired throughout the human form even more.  In high school, I was gearing towards going to college for art, considering anatomical art as a possibility....then I saw Frank Netter's work and realized it's all been done to perfection by a master painter already . In comics, Big John Buscema will always be my favorite artist (not for his storytelling) for his incredible anatomy, drawn 'heroic', just like he and Stan taught us in 'How to Draw Comics: The Marvel Way!".

.....Then there's the female form.....'sigh' ....adds a whole 'nother layer to appreciating the muscles of a human body!

Took me all day, but I got through this episode. Pat, David, Derek and everybody did a fantastic job, as usual. I like hearing more of David and Derek's opinions on things. It's like when David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson came back to the X-Files. The show went on without them for a while, but we knew what we were missing until their big return.

Steve and Adam, I can't express how impressed I am with your wealth of Marvel knowledge. The way you guys can organize, catalogue and present all this raw data is beyond me. Somehow, you turn it from simple facts and statistics into interesting dialogue. I could easily be jealous of this ability, which is not unlike the genius of The Leader, but I choose to simply be thankful you both use it for good, not for evil. Thank you both SO MUCH for doing this segment; it was extremely enjoyable. And Steve, the Crossroads stories of The Incredible Hulk will be coming up in Smash Tales, but at least 10 or 12 issues remain before we get to the ones you mentioned. That'll take me a couple months to get to, but we got lots of good stuff in the meantime. (Hint: his name rhymes with "Don, the Place Kite")

Cool, thanks for the kind words, Rick! If I could only turn down the 'ummm' meter, I'd be able to feel a little pride, which was supplied this week by getting this bit with Adam in the can...we've been talking about it for literally months (i think).

As for the wait until the interdimensional crossroads......it'll be worth it and hardly a 'wait' as you state...great! (heh).  As you know, this was during the period I started reading the Hulk on a monthly basis, so I'm really enjoying the tales you're spinning on several levels.

Good for her...OT has the potential to provide near-max flexibility for child-rearing, part-time or flexible hours, and you can work in so many areas (pediatrics, schools, hands, orthopedics/neuro rehab, mental health) that provide a variety of employment options.  Hope she enjoys it!

She seems very happy with it so far.  She likes helping people and working with kids.  I am also very glad that she is in a field that still has jobs left in it.  She had a few employment offers and wants to live in a few different areas before finally settling back down.  I am sure you can tell I am proud of her.  I do not envy anybody finishing up college at this time.  While it wasn't easy for me, I think the current job market is really crap and I have much sympathy for anyone trying to make it out there.  Just keep on pushing.  I am pulling for you.

Great mammoth episode everyone. Remind me again why you guys are doing this for free? All of your efforts are appreciated.

Derek/ David: Even though I was at the opposite end of the spectrum on nearly all of your Avengers books reviews, I enjoyed listening to your perspectives. I think the Secret Avengers line up was actually pretty well thought out and exciting, given the character options Bru had to work with. I disliked New Avengers for many of the reasons you gentlemen liked it. It probably goes to show that having multiple Avengers "flavors" is a good idea.
- Kang is awesome. Classic Avengers foe. But wait.....is he their foe in Avengers #1? Wait and see.
- RE: Sharon Carter and Cap. They obviously belong together and when Perkins or Deodate draw her, she is smoking hot. As for your suggestion that Black Widow and Steve should fly off to Hawaii together....remember that Natasha is dating Steve's little buddy, Bucky. Some decorum please.
- I think my jaw hit the floor when I heard David say he didn't think Spiderman should be in the Avengers. I mean, I agree, but i didn't expect to hear that.

Adam/ Steve. Wow. Thanks for the walkthrough of Marvel's mini erm.....limited series from the 80s. I remember buying many of them. You helped me remember some of my faves. I actually picked up issues both of the Vision and Scarlett Witch runs. I opened them up while listening to your segment. What a blast form the past. And man, I miss the days of Wanda and the Vision together. Great trip down memory lane. I too will be on the lookout for some of those Hawkeye issues and some of the other limited series.

I enjoyed this episode between David and Derek giving their incites and then Steve talks about Marvel's limited runs. I subscribe to Marvel's online comics and I will look up these "limited runs". If there are more then just the covers listed then post them up but other wise good show guys.

Loved Steve and Adam's look back at Marvel's limited series of the early to mid 80s. I remember reading a number of em back when they first came out. Jack of Hearts was my favorite of the bunch. I've still got those four issues but I wish they would collect it.

Mark Gruenwald had this to say about Limited Series in his original Introduction to the 1988 Hawkeye tpb (and reprinted in the recent Premier HC)...

My philosophy of the Limited Series is that it should not only depict the single most important adventure of a hero's life, it should also leave the character permanently transformed by the experience.

I wish all Limited Series writers approached them in that way (and, for the record, I think he did accomplish it with Hawkeye).
